I gotta tell ya im an equal fan of both and im surprised this is as heavy as a debate as it is- i always thought it was just understood in the Tohoverse that Kong bested Godzilla. After i saw Skull island and out together all the emphasized facts about Kong it played as a promo for him winning the fight.


Godzilla is a heck of a monster, his Legendary counterpart is the weakest of his incarnations but that was necessary to make this more realistic, i look at Rodan and im betting he has better armor than Godzilla, i look at Mothra and i see she has way more weapons but has to keep her distance and it seems Ghidorah in the Legendary universe is the toughest incarnation since the final wars version, he looks way more nimble and i think Godzilla will take him down just in time to survive ans will get some help from Mothra to keep him busy. This being said-You line all the stats up and Kong still has him beat. They will play up Godzillas standing in KOTM but then shock the audience when we get reintroduced to Kong and him snag Godzilla by the tail and chuck him across the city. This happened before and will undoubtedly agian, its even a model kit. I understand comparing the Toho Showah series to the Legendary series can be viewed as inaccurate but its way more similar here than say the 90s/ Millenium series. Kongs even tougher here than he was in the Toho days AND alot of people like Skull island better than the first Godzilla and i think they know it. Kong takes this one, we should be more concerned about what threat they face, the only thing we haven’t seen is Mecha Godzilla

Like i said-already happened and it was all these same reasons.

Its going to happen agian just way more spectacular. You cant just go around saying people are certifiable and offer no counter points against the people like myself who stated why this would come to be. Do you have any counter points at all?

I think they will fight twice, have a draw somewhat in both fights.
monster C ( mecha Z? ) shows up, fignting and beating them both separately.
It's then either Team up or die.

I know he says that, but it's kinda like bvs in a way..yes, batman could have killed him at the end, but so could have superman him at anytime before the K was introduced.
I dont think having a clear winner would make the fans happy if their monster loses.

That is a big reason to flip it Kongs way as well, It allows for further battles and keeps the audience coming back. Like i said if they can hold up the box office and keep people coming back Kong could show up agian to help out.

Or what if Ghidorah weakens Godzilla and prepares to kill him; but Mothra and Rodan (if not also the two other monsters {just two, right?}) combine forces to take down Ghidorah, and in the process let Godzilla regain his energy and deal the final blow to defeat him? Godzilla was able to beat the male and the female M.U.T.O. solo, while Ghidorah by himself could pose a substantially greater threat to where a team effort would be needed to beat him.

Just a proposed probability, lol. I'm rooting for the King of the Monsters to win, but won't throw a hissy fit if Kong does. I just want to see the movie... Heck, if this is to be the last MonsterVerse movie (which I doubt it'll be), Kong can win if it means we get Anguirus and Varan - given the synopsis mentioning other monsters.

From what we know of the film this is not what happens BUT i do believe that just as it has been in the past Mothra will indeed turn the tide of the battle in a huge way. Sadly I believe Rodan will not be in Godzillas side at first but nither was Mothra back in the day. I think they will paint Mothra as a gunship in these movie to offset her being a giant butterfly to naked eye. Im hoping for webs, energy beams, poison powder,wing stingers and mabey being able to grab other montsers hence the longer legs. I don’t believe the Toho formula will be followed unless they do decide to kill off Mothra and show later that an egg was left. I really want to see a tough monster or mecha weapon in KVG so the 2 habe something big to take on. Heck who says Ghidora has to die in KOTM, could fly off into the stratosphere and find Gigan and then for KVG has Megalom show up on skull island or an island close by and have him be as tough as he was in the video games, you even have a rival group of natives who bring him out.

Kong will be much bigger in GVK, they even said in Skull Island that he's still growing. I believe one of the writers said that in Skull Island he was basically a teenager.

I know that. Kong's height was in and around 100 ft during the events of Skull Island.

It's obvious that he'll grow much bigger but it remains to be seen just how big is he gonna be here. His height can't possibly be less than 250 ft otherwise the fight will look downright silly.
