Godzilla vs Kong (2021)

What are the odds Kong & Godzilla won’t “team up” later in the movie to fight an even more menacing foe (Mecha Godzilla etc.)?

Hopefully it goes in a completey different direction to what we’re expecting.
Very unlikely. From what I'm seeing in these clips, I think both of them are being pawned against each other for a more nefarious goal.

Honestly, if one really thinks about it, it's so obvious that Kong is going to win. Not bearing in mind that Kong is the default "underdog" which already guarantees him the win, KOTM ended with Godzilla becoming the alpha of all the monsters. He's the most likely candidate to lose against Kong, and by falling at his hands, Kong becomes king. Hence, King Kong. Also he has a bigger connection to humanity than Godzilla does.

And there's the fact that Kong so clearly won in the original.

I wish Kong would win or it end in a draw, but that’s not the case. This movie has been screened and it’s pretty much assured Godzilla wins and Kong gets a moral victory. Which is why I’m skipping this one! A team up after a draw is fine, but what’s been said about this one. Ugh! You would think that 1933 and basically jump starting the sci-fi realm and being an inspiration for the original Godzilla would mean something, but no, no it doesn’t. Kong should be respected. Thank God for Peter Jackson and Jordan V. Robert’s. Directors who respect the source material.

I know I overreact when it comes to Kong and Hulk, but honestly that was my childhood!

I'm excited to see the trailer. I watched the 2005 King Kong today on Apple TV. I hadn't seen it in 4K before. It looked good but the HDR was maybe a bit too bright sometimes. All the cgi hasn't aged well but Kong still looks great.

I thought the cgi still holds up in that one. The V Rex fight still looks stunning!

You again. :whatever:

And you better pray those don't turn out to be actual spoilers for the movie otherwise the mods will rightfully come down on you for inconsiderably spoiling things for others. You can thank me for spoiler-tagging you here.

This thread is low key very entertaining.

Even without trailers.

Once in a blue moon, Joefixit comes out to post the same thing over and over again. :hehe:

Is he an old account under a new name? Sounds like this guy who used to come into the horror and Halloween movie thread posting the same over and over. Constantly was warned and banned I think.

Looks cool and proper Kaiju action.

Some of the CGI looks really PS3-like, however - especially some of the shots of Kong.

Could do without the horrible song choice, but other than that looks freaking awesome. The CG looks on point to me, all the films have looked great.

10 bucks says that Kong is attacked by Mechagodzilla the first time, which spawns this whole plot

This joint half looks like a video game. I'm not feeling the slant towards Kong, but I'm just happy to see that after all this time the movie actually exists.
