Godzilla vs Kong (2021)

I snapped up a Kong figure. Not missing out like I missed out on KOTM Ghidorah. That Godzilla figure is really cool, but I already have a 2014 and KOTM Godzilla Monsterart.

Fully agree. Usually, the best Godzilla films seem to be the ones where he's solo. The original,Godzilla 1985 and Shin Godzilla are the deeper movies in the franchise.

GMK is one of my favorite ones. Though, I can understand why it may not be the most popular in Japan...

As for spoiler speculation...

I suspect the sea battle is the real Godzilla. Godzilla's roar is off in Hong Kong, so I suspect that is where Mecha G is going to be revealed.

I started watching Godzilla with the Heisei era so most of those are my favourite, vs. SpaceGodzilla in particular. I am fully aware the quality and mileage may vary but I do love the monster designs of this era.

They all look like they could show up in Power Rangers at any moment.

Those figures are cool. Hoping the movie lives up to the hype! Curious to see what final run time will be
If I had to guess I'd say it'll be around the two hour mark like the previous three Monsterverse films.

Probably, though KOTM was slightly longer

I know you shouldn't think about these kinds of movies too much, but....one has to wonder how the the two monsters actually get on that carrier. I mean, if either of them crawl onto it from the ocean, their weight would cause the carrier to tip over and fall into the water. Same if one monster jumped onto it on either end. For the carrier to not sink, they'd both have to get onto it at opposite ends at the exact same time. :o

Also that punch better have an impressive sound effect in the final release, because it had virtually nothing in the trailer which was underwhelming.

It's one of mine as well. I love Godzilla's look and throughout the entire series I have never seen him as evil and as threatening as he was in GMK. And I thing it was a pretty ballsy choice in having Godzilla represent what he did,especially...and obviously in Japan itself.

Yep, and he was mighty pissed about it

And the original King Kong vs Godzilla had him tied up.

Ah. I hadn't seen that movie in ages, so. ^^'

So, there is a third GvK Monsterarts figure to be revealed. I assume its *spoiler*, and it won't be revealed till the movie releases, with a winter release date.

I feel like this had to have been made to accomodate the Snyder's JL release date.

I think this is def due to Snyder Cut and this being too close together. I can handle another 5 days

The Snyder Cut was there first. I dont know what boneheaded Legendary and/or Warner Bros rep thought putting those two head to head was a good idea in the first place smh

Godzilla's masterpiece is the original Japanese version of the original movie. Gojira. That movie is a powerful piece of cinema history and I think is one of the most effective pieces of cinema ever made about the aftermath of Hiroshima. They just happen to disguise all the stuff about nuclear bombs in a monster movie. No Godzilla movie has even come close to it, but it is hard to. Gojira was made to be a statement on Hiroshima in a time when Japan was still reading from its devastation. Since Godzilla has become a more commercial icon, the series doesn't reach for that type of depth. Which is fine. Godzilla's identity has evolved over time and I love Godzilla films. Even bad ones. They're just fun times. KOTM was a stupid movie, but I loved it. But as a film enthusiast, I also have to call em as I see them. Gojira for me is the best Kaiju monster movie ever. I don't think it has any real contenders.

Yeah almost no Godzilla film since has reached or even attempted to reach the quality of the 1954 classic. Except for I think Shin Godzilla, which is very close IMO. That's a masterpiece in it's own right.

Persecution Of The Masses gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it. Haunting track.

Atleast its just a week and not another month or something. That would have been worse, but I can take it and Warner Bros needs to separate this and The Snyder Cut as much possible, because while I am looking forward to watching both Day 1 with all the hype going for it right now I can definitely see Godzilla v. Kong overshadowing it big time which is honestly doing the Snyder Cut a huge disservice IMO.
