Goldeneye to be released XBLA. For details and soiled pants, click here.

Nintendo has absolutely nothing to do with Perfect Dark. Nintendo didn't publish the game, develop it or even test it aside from certification.
Since when did Rare publish their own games? Nintendo published all of their games after Donkey Kong Country until their buyout by Microsoft. And everything such as IGN and Gamespot state that Nintendo published the first Perfect Dark game.

As for Banjo, Microsoft got full rights to everything as part of the buy-out agreement.
Really? I thought that this was a situation like Mass Effect never ending up on the Playstation 3 even though EA bought Bioware where even though the developer owns the IP but the console maker (Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft) owned the publishing rights.

Rare was the publisher for Perfect Dark. Nintendo was the publisher for Banjo-Kazooie

Are you trying to out-Rare-info me? ME of all people? Rare published Perfect Dark and Conker's Bad Fur Day. They also self-published Jet Force Gemini, Diddy Kong Racing and Conker's Pocket Tales (Gameboy Color). If I'm not mistaken, Rare still owns Diddy Kong. (Definitely not Donkey Kong though)

The difference is that Microsoft never owned Bioware, so there weren't any shady buy-out trade-offs between EA and Microsoft.

Actually WHF, Nintendo owns all rights to the DKC characters.

That is the only ones though, since Rare still owns the rights to all other franchises created by them. That is the reason Diddy Kong Racing for the DS removed Conker and Banjo, and replaced them with Dixie and Tiny Kong.

The problem with Goldeneye, is that Nintendo did publish that title. I don't know if they own the publishing rights to Perfect Dark or the first two Banjo games.

Diddy, Dixie, Tiny, Cranky, Donkey, Funky and Candy Kongs plus all the Kremlings are all owned by Nintendo still, which is the reason they have continued to make games including them and using Diddy for SSBB.

i guess nintendo and microsoft are going to talk dollars before anything goes down. i wish they would put it on the vc and microsoft just fork over the cash to nintendo(not that they need it) so they can put it on xbox live and end the whole thing. but i do understand iwata's position, nintendo did publish it so they do have rights to who does and doesnt get the game.

haha my bad! had a typo there, ment to say "can put it on xbox live"

i miss playing 007, the first and only shooter i could play for hours on end. the golden gun, proximity mines, pencil gun (can't remember the name)...good times i wish i had bought a n64 when i had the chance...here's hoping nintendo and microsoft get their asses in gear and figure out "who pays what" and "who owns what" so people can download the thing.

please let it come on the Wii...i'll make it my first vc purchase...

So is there any real possibility that this will still happen or is it pretty much dead?

That avatar has a disturbing lack of cesar romero.

Is it 100% dead?

The last "official" news I read was from Major Nelson, noting that he was aware of the fan outry and growing petition, and would pass it along to the right sources.

Are there any more pics like the one from above?

There was a video online somewhere showing footage of the game.

Nintendo better wise up and make a deal... they could make big bank from this. Millions will download the game on XBL Arcade.
