I picked up Pure the other day for $30 and man is it a great game. I'm not usually into racing games, or at least not hardcore. But this game is great. Awesome graphics and the stunts are cool though a little forced.

Just bought a 360 within the last few weeks and looking for some good game suggestions. I've been out of the gaming loop for a while. Mostly into action/adventure, huge RPG fan, survival horror and the occassional fighting game. I pretty much suck at FPS so don't care much for them and i despise sports games except for maybe tennis. Any suggestion would be appreciated

Fallout 3 is a first-person game, but it's more RPG than FPS, so you might like that. Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is great. Prince of Persia is a fantastic action/adventure platformer. Soul Calibur IV is such a good fighting game that even I liked it, and I generally hate fighting games. For your survival horror fix, I haven't played them but I hear Silent Hill: Homecoming and Dead Space are both pretty good.

cool thanks. i actually have ultimate alliance for PS2 and I have Spiderman Web of Shadows so that is my superhero fix at the moment. been thinking about MK v DC but still not sure how i feel about that game. ive beaten all 3 PoP on PS2 unless of course the new one is out. Soul Calibur is brilliant man. And if you like survival horror games in the mould of Resident Evil and that, check out Dead Space.

The new PoP is indeed out. It lacks some of the wit and charm of the first game of the previous trilogy, but it's easily better than the second and third ones. The platforming is a lot of fun and the locations are obviously much more ambitious and pretty than anything we've seen before. It's one of a growing number of very colorful games, too, which is a nice departure from all the muddy grays and earth tones that most of the 360's earlier games tended to overuse.

sounds good. i need to step up my game again in the gaming world. i used to be an awesome gamer but between work, pastry school, and not having enough money to join the ranks of next gen i have lost my touch. im hoping to get on the fast track to improving that. the world of gaming has changed drastically and i need to play some serious catch up

I thought it was pretty good. But there are flaws, like the way you have to keep going back and forth back and forth to save games and the like. In the end that really pissed me off.

I agree. The targeting system in particular is amazingly bad. You go into the targeting mode and you're unable to move, but targeting is really the only way to hit anything with guns, so basically you're a sitting duck if you want to use the best weapons in the game. This becomes especially annoying after [blackout]the commandos[/blackout] show up.

But it's still a fun game and definitely worth playing. I would've said rent instead of buying, but given that it's a 360 launch game, it's probably down to about $12 to $20 by now.

In the end I just treated it like a GTA game. When I fancied a bit of zombie killing I would stick it on.

Ninja Gaiden 2 is insane!!! Definitely get that. I haven't played Burnout Paradise yet though.
