Hopefully it quickly grows away from being a re-enactment. The biggest difference so far is the inclusion of a whale's tail. The "we will find who did this" still hits though.

I imagine this will be a lot like the original show where it will slowly come into it's own. People were a little wary Broadchurch was just gonna be the same old thing when it started.

Anyone watch Ep2? It really is unravelling piece by piece like an old school mystery. Still feels very British though, not sure how American audiences are taking to it.

Never saw the British version (weird as I live in the UK) but other than adjusting to Tennant's acting it has been pretty good. It's quite slow but things are just opening up, like the original it will take a few episodes for people to notice.

I'm talking from an outside perspective Broadchurch took a few episodes then was everywhere as this next great show.

I watched a clip of Broadchurch where the female detective hands Tennant some food and the same scene was redone for "Broadchurch"

I never watched the ITV version but my Aunt and Uncle said it was good and I've enjoyed the fist 2 eps of this, I love the Cabot Cove-like setting with all the secrets and shifty suspects.

Well at first it was like the BroadChurch version

i liked the new ending they went with. too bad we won't see where they were planning on going with this since it didn't get pick up. at least we'll see Tennant reprise this role when season 2 of Broadchurch returns February 4, 2014 on BBCA.

I haven't seen Broadchurch yet because it was never on BBCA on demand when I would check. Is the end/"twist" different? Actually, is the show itself much different? I want to watch it, but not if it's the exact same (even though this would be the fault of Fox, not BBC).

Anyhow, Broadchurch - the British version- is getting a season 2. Looks like they're going to show the aftermath and trial based off the events of the first season..and Tennet is back!
