The decals are dry enough! Yay or as we say in ASCII \o/

Unfortunately, the joint lines on top are a bit visible. I guess I will have to live with that... For now...
The joints on the underside are going to be mainly covered with the doodads.

The repainting of the levitation greeblies continues...
The black has now been applied.


Wait until dry enough to mask around the disc part and spray with the chrome paint.

And now I am back to where I was on Saturday... But with a better paint job!

In the meantime, I applied a coat of satin clear varnish to the underside of the board and previously glued down decal. As a protective layer.

Here it is after the varnish has dried and I dry placed the parts on to see what it looks like. Not too bad I think... Although I am feeling a touch of Deja Vu here...!

These parts need to be lightly rubbed down to get rid of some bubbles and minor imperfections. I'll wait until the paint has properly cured and then I will attack it with a sufficiency of rubbing compound.

The battery pack is pretty much done and has had a protective coat of satin clear varnish applied.

In the (more) meantime the bits were taken off of the board and I flipped it over to varnish up the top side. This is currently sitting in the workshop drying.



In the other meantime, I have made the foot holder disk, stuck the green felt and velcro onto it. This is where I discovered that the velcro is a little less wide than it needs to be to cover the green lines on the top of the board and it is not quite the right colour.


The other bits are absolutely fine and will be used in due course.


Best be checking Ebay and Amazon again...

Little bit unhappy with the holographic tape around the edge, but not much I can do. May give it a blast of satin varnish to help hold it on and protect it.

Still waiting for all the bits and pieces I have ordered to arrive before I can get on with this. And also going to Manchester Comic Con this weekend with my Fiancée where we will be Joker and Harley Quinn.
Obviously, I will leave it to you lot to decide who is going as who...

While trying to figure out the correct placement for the footplate, I was watching and taking screengrabs from BTTF II...
In the process I managed to get a great shot of the top forward section of the board which is almost looking straight down.
This has told me that the current graphic I have used is not quite right, but I am not going to worry about it at this late stage.

But if I ever do another? I will certainly redesign to the pattern this picture shows...

Not much in the way of updates, I am waiting for some new black paint and clear coat so that I can get the levitation thingys finished off.
Decided I will be making a new foot plate as well, because the one I previously made looks just a bit too small.
If all goes well and deliveries arrive as they should, it should all be done by this Sunday... Yay.

Going to get back onto building my DeAgostini Millennium Falcon. But I do have an idea in the back of my mind for a 1:1 scale Flux Capacitor...

After trying to tidy up the existing paint job on the levitation units, I came to the conclusion it was, yet again, s**t...

Here's what I mean


So, I took it back to the resin and started over. There are no pictures of this bit, as I was too busy crying!

But here is a video instead...

I bought a different brand of black spray paint and got satin instead of gloss. A quick prayer before spraying commenced.
Having given the primer sufficient time to cure and give it the lightest of rub downs...


Gave it several very light coats and made sure I waited enough time between coats.


And that is where we are now. Tomorrow the red gets applied. Again.
Bought a different brand of red too.
