Sawyer I know beast wasn't I was more so on the sex prequel. But hopefully we will start to see the shift in network and it changes up. But like I said its going to take time for network to change. More then one season. With shows ending/canning to new shows coming on, and phazing out stuff. Its not going to be a lightswitch change for the network.

As for costume wouldn't be surpirsed if it turns out to be like sv one or a modified one. Ga is sporting one like it in comics now and isn't that hard of a design to make and be used in a weekly series.

What I can't wait to see is who else joins the crew, and then casting. Along with tone/setting for the series. It would be nice if they touch up on ga social crusader bit, and go against corp greed, and occupy stuff thst is big today.

So we can keep budget down in that respect and keep shooting for more pratical effects. Then toss in a few super powered baddies once in awhile. Along with normal thugs and non powered baddies. Maybe take who ever is considered his archh rival and have that character be a reoccuring/supporting cast mate.

I just hope they learn from SV mistakes and SV made many of them. As for the Sex and the City prequel I don't see it working or lasting. They have to heavily edit it to put it on cable. Much of the magic was lost on the original series when they brought it from HBO to network TV and I feel the same will happen here. Which is a shame because it is a good idea and can last for many years really but it will just fall flat with out the humor and stuff that made the original good.

The Emerald Archer, I can see him doing a spokesdeal for Emerald Nuts. :o

If they wanted a simple one word title, Archer would've been better than Arrow. But, then.... a certain brilliant animated spy comedy already has the same title, so. :o

Huge Green Arrow fan. Not looking forward to this at all. It'll end up being of similar ilk to Smallville, where action is replaced by weepy teen drama and faux angst. Would prefer it to be grittier, bloodier and humorous.

Plot wise I hope they have an over-riding arc for the entire life-cycle of the project. Not short term stuff that ends up being retconned a few seasons later. I think a max of 12 episodes per season, and first season based on Year One.

As shocked as I am to say this I have to agree with you. GA on Smallville was done well. At first I had a problem because they were making him more like Bruce Wayne but really what they did was just took the friendship Batman and Superman had and gave it to GA instead. That was really the only change in him. Although I like the fact that there was no love lost in the comics between Superman and Green Arrow. I liked the fact that they respected one another but were not friends. That's how they started out on Smallville but some how he morphed into a Batman/Green Arrow hybrid which is not bad but not great either. I thought they should not have had him marry Chloe I mean they already did drop hints of a GA/BC relationship and should have followed up on it and he did over stay his welcome. But for an elseworld version he was enjoyable.

I didn't watch the latter seasons of the show so I only knew him as the Bruce Wayne type who was dating Lois for a while. I think it's unlikely the actor will be brought back but hopefully the design influence doesn't stray far.

Im also hoping that if this gets picked up for a series, that they dont try to hide the more magical/alien part of DCU. Still want some super powered thugs or whatevs to show up.

Yeah I loved the look they went with on the show and it's really what made me like him so much. I would just hope that they go with a goatee for the next actor and maybe keep the facemask instead of sunglasses.

And I agree, he was very much a Bruce Wayne like character, aside form the fact that he wasn't as brooding as Batman is made out to be in regards to the other JL members. But I liked that they made him cocky to some extent and charming because gadget-wise he is like Batman, but character wise he is much different.

Yeah, Green Arrow's costume was great on Smallville. I hope they keep it similar to that. :D I much prefer his newer costume over the older one. The hat always looked a little silly to me.

Actually, the hooded look started in the comics. 1986. The Longbow Hunters.

Yeah they paid homage to it in SV, but obviously the look doesn't transfer well in live-action.

Rockstar- Oh, I know that. I just like how Smallville updated the hoodie look. :D It's gotten a lot better over the years. This is probably one of my favorite pictures of Green Arrow:

Spideyville- Haha, yeah. It looks silly, but I still found it awesome that they paid homage to it on Smallville.

Agreed on the goatee and I'd like them to give him a new mask design as opposed to shades or the comic mask.

Yes they need to keep that personality, he's basically Bruce Wayne for real, rather than it just being a facade as it is for Batman. The characterization fits somewhere between the cockiness of Stark and the charm of Wayne.

That's a fantastic piece of art.

The Nu52 costume seems pretty good and might well transfer onto screen. I only hope there's no team arrow, or like some others have said - teen angst

Speaking of title again really its still in early stages the name could easily change. Same goes with the guys running the pilot they could either stay on and be the showrunners or some other producers come on board and we see some changes. We just don't know to it goes to series.

I actually don't mind if they ditch the beard..

If Oliver is a public figure, his beard would be too recognizeable as Green Arrow.

not really they could always play the deal when he is ollie he is clean shaven, and when as green arrow having a beard could be part of his disguise.

Ollie didn't always have a beard anyways. Maybe some weeks he will have a goatee and others he won't.

Anyone have some picks who they'd like to see play Ollie in the show? :D

hard to say at this point will it be a young ollie or a slightly older ollie. Either way we will probably see early 20s-early 30 yr olds being tested.

Since it's CW, I'm betting they're looking for a younger Ollie. They may try to make this the next Smallville for them. I bet they did lose quite a few viewers when the show ended.

Maybe he could start out clean shaven and grow the beard if the show lasts long enough to get awesome. Kind of a forced Growing the Beard situation.
