Green Arrow series in the works at The CW

GL may have bombed, but it's quality is held to a way higher standard than a CW series.

This type of series could be a better fit for the writers.

Production quality? Sure.

Quality of writing? **** no.

It was held to a higher quality of writing. It's not some CW drama. It was a 200+ Mil studio motion picture.

It didn't come anywhere close to quality though.

The halfassed writing of the GL script did remind me a regular Smallville episode though. These writers are probably in the right place on CW.

Same if they can rope Geoff Johns onto this series. His work on the GL script was horrible, but it worked in the context of the Smallville episodes he wrote.

All this talk about GL kind of makes me want to watch it again. I was in the minority of people who thought Green Lantern wasn't terrible.

For me I too thought it was ok. Yes some bad things but wasn't the worst cbm of all time.

Me to. I have seen worse movies in my life. Im still hoping for a sequel since it can only get better since it started off low.

Brian Markinson Joins the Cast of CW's ARROW

Although there hasn't yet been any official confirmation,a recent report reveals that the Canadian actor will be joining the cast of The CW's Arrow as the main antagonist of the pilot episode,Adam Hunt. Jolt17 - 2/18/2012

Thanks to Green Arrow TV, we have a currently unconfirmed report of this casting addition, as well as a little information about the character of Adam Hunt right below.

We don’t have official confirmation from the studio, so our apologies if this information is incorrect, but it seems that Brian Markinson has landed the role of Adam Hunt in the CW’s Green Arrow pilot, Arrow. Hunt is a corrupt businessman who is ripping off some people —behavior that has gotten the attention of Dinah Laurel Lance and her CNRI firm. I think it’s safe to assume that he’ll cross paths with Oliver in the premiere episode as well.

Brian Markinson has previously guest starred in numerous TV series' such as Caprica, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, The X-Files, and Supernatural, among many others. More details of the character can be found in the review of the TV series' pilot script.

The CW's Arrow stars Stephen Arnell as Oliver Queen,Katie Cassidy as Dinah Laurel Lance,David Ramsey as John Diggle,Willa Holland as Thea Queen, and Susanna Thompson as Moira Queen. The pilot will be directed by David Nutter, based on the script written by Andrew Kreisberg,Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim.

1. There will be a costume.
2. It won't be black.
3. It will be dark green.
4. Green Lantern was awesome.
5. You're extremely over-dramatic.
6. Seriously, Green Lantern was awesome.
7. Directory isn't a word that has anything to do with film making. It's a collection of information or files.

Your out of your goddamn mind if you think Green Lantern was anything other than a heaping pile of ****. Never in my life have I seen a movie that made so many mistakes.

Well sorry you didn't enjoy the first movie you've ever seen. Hope it doesn't put you off from trying a second one.

Katie Cassidy? Not bad, not bad...

How would it have been with Ali Larter as Black Canary?

Eh. Larter's not really all that, anyway.

Her big time has past, she probably isnt that expensive as she used to be (if she ever was)

She probably a bit to old with where they going with show.

Deadline:
New York stage actor Colin Donnell, who made his series debut in an arc on Pan Am this season, has been cast in the CW drama pilot Arrow, a modern retelling of the story of DC Comics character Green Arrow which stars Stephen Amell as the vigilante superhero who fights crime using archery, martial arts and technology under his secret identity as Oliver Queen, a wealthy playboy and billionaire industrialist-turned-outspoken politician in Star City. Gersh-repped Donnell will play Tommy Merlyn, Oliver’s best friend, a playboy “trustafarian” who assumes the good times will roll again now that Oliver has returned…only to learn Oliver is a changed man.
Never heard of the guy, and I never watched Pam Am. I hope he can pull the role off.

Surprised noone has posted this yet

Looks like he will have the beard. And nice way of connecting with possible future fans.

I have to say I really like the changes they have made so far to the character. I feel that green arrow is one of those characters that needs it the most to work.

Keeping his mother alive and giving him a sister will add an interesting dynamic. Tommy Merlyn will probably end up becoming a villain. Green arrow has way to many assassin villains so this will bring out a much needed change.

With filming starting in march hopefully we get a look at the costume soon. However, with the backlash of that wonder woman picture they released I hope they put some time in it. With so many talented graphic designers its a wonder how they don't put much effort into these official photos sometimes.

My big issue with the Wonder Woman costume was both that it looked like a cheap halloween costume and that the first image of it looked like an advertisement for... a cheap halloween costume.

First of all, I'm hoping that the costume actually looks good. But second, I'm hoping that they can keep the costume under wraps for all of filming, and that the first image of Amell in costume is actually a still or an action shot. Less Wonder Woman and more, lets say, the first time we saw Bale in costume for BB.

What are the chances of this series influencing the comics?

The comic hasn't been all that good for a couple of years. I say let the TV show influence it. I'm easy.

DC usually doesn't take any inspiration from mainstream at all. Really, the last thing i can remember DC being inspired by outside Comics would be Batman's armor having a "realistic" feel to it.
