Oh God, that Stargirl mask is so bad. Makes her look like a Cavegirl. You think someone would've seen that and then just been like "Nope, **** that, use a fabric mask if you have too."

Or Starman goggles or something. That really is a stupid looking mask.

It would have made more sense if she did have a cloth mask to work with her costume better.

As for the score guy. Can't wait to here his theme for the show/pilot. And if it goes to series if he is retained. But he is working on other shows. So that could be an issue.

Another small Role cast for pilot:

Roger Cross Will Be Playing Detective Hilton In Arrow

Craig Byrne March 29, 2012 0
Earlier, we posted that 24′s Roger Cross would be appearing in The CW’s Green Arrow pilot, Arrow… and now we have a character name.
Roger’s detective character is named Detective Hilton.
The detective partner of Quentin Lance, Hilton meets with one of the pilot’s villains, Adam Hunt, who describes the “man with a green hood and bow and arrow” who put two of his bodyguards in the hospital. The sarcastic detective (Cross) tells him he’ll put out an APB out on Robin Hood… at least, that’s how things go down in the pilot script; what we see on the air might change.

Depends on your sense of style. I thought it was pretty cool and an even cooler live action interpretation with the sleeves.

I liked Hawkman's costume with the exception of the mentioned breastplate (they didn't even try with that one) and Michael Shanks just generally not being in the shape to pull it off anyway. Hawkman's costume is practically just being a buffed up hairy chested dude. I think it could have worked if the chest plate was more detailed.

I too liked Aquaman's sleeved look more. I didn't like it third suit and really didn't understand the change...

Hawkman made me laugh. It was ok, but that light going out when he died was just goofy. And from the start, they should've gone with the CGI route they took for his wings the second time he appeared.

Hawkman would have been better if they had just given him the sculpted muscle look. I think Aquaman's third costume was to signify his changed personality. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he become more radical his previous appearance to that episode?

Yeah, him and Mera were deadly serious. This wasn't AC anymore. This was Arthur Curry. Just wish they went with a better design than generic wetsuit.

Also, it would've been nice if they didn't go overboard with the "she completes me attitude" they gave him.

I actually liked this costume. Its my favorite Smallville costume next to Green Arrow's.

However, I very much prefer the new series costume compared to the Smallville one.

I would have preferred chainmail with darker colors for Aquaman.

His costume looked more like a boyband outfit than something superheroic.

If he walked around like that in the Nolan verse, for example, he'd be laughed at.

Same for Impulse.

I would hesitate to call AC's get-up a "costume." It's an orange and green hoodie and a pair of pants. No more, no less. The same goes for Bart and Cyborg.

They would have looked godawful in CGI, it's pointless to go that route when practical effects would be more effective.

^I've seen some CGI wings just today in a film that looked very well done.

The difference is the CGI on Smallville tended to look really cheap.

That was pretty much Smallville's motto.

:hehe: Long before Aquaman came back, I knew that the final season would be one that I didn't really like compared to others.

I just hope Smallville is a lesson of what to do/not to do for the people behind this show. But, with Ollie being a superhero pretty much right from the start, I think plenty of problems may have been solved.

I'd say that it was outside of the unnecessary hoodie. Less so for Cyborg. No for Impulse, the Legion, and the Blur since those where pretty much just jeans and a hoodie/jacket/coat that would not look all that out of place if one were to wear them in their normal lives.

Not really. It looked pretty good. It was much better than having him walk around with the wings on like they did the first time he appeared on the show with his suit...

Watching that again, Hawkman was pretty well done, considering he was supposed to be a retired superhero. I just would've found a way to give him more of a V shape. He looked pretty skinny and I know Michael Shanks has been in better shape.

It's probably a good thing if Arrow is grounded in realism. These costumes just can't be done to look anything but silly on a CW budget.

Fate was the only costume I thought worked decently.

There outfits where still costumes. Just sv universe take on costumes. It was there view folks today wouldn't be running around in tights. So it was just a modernization to them.

Same for Impulse.

I'd say Impulse is the only one who wouldn't, why would he need an extravagant costume, when no one will ever see him, because he is several hundred times faster than the speed of sound. His "proto-costume" does just fine for him.

But in any case, I think all the costumes worked in Smallville's narravtive, and I think so would this "Arrow's" costume. Because it will have a comparable budget to Smallville provided it goes to series.

Eh. For what it's worth, I think it worked better without the sleeves.

Less so for Cyborg. No for Impulse

They both looked like ordinary civilians. I wouldn't think twice if I saw them on the street.

True. But at least they all (aside from Garth) actually looked cool. The Justice League (in my opinion) looked like they were playing dress up.

I will say that I think Clark's second "suit" (the red jacket/blue jeans combo) could pass for a costume, but only because of the presence of the shield.

I wouldn't call those modernizations. What they did with Green Arrow was a modernization. What they did with everybody else was...well, cheap. Which is fine, I realize they were on a budget, but let's not pretend they made honest attempts to truly modernize those costumes.

As proto costumes, they're perfectly fine. As legit hero costumes...no.

But in any case, I think all the costumes worked in Smallville's narravtive

Yeah, in context, they're fine.

There ya go. Realism.

Batman Begins meets Bourne.

Seesh just cause they saying realism, bb, bourne stlye. Still doesn't mean all comicbook/fanntasy elements will be stripped down. Still I take it they want to present the world ga lives in as a realistic place, but super things can happen in it. How about we wait and see some footage and to see 100% from in show/creators no supers exist and all that.
