Homecoming Green Goblin Costume Design

Again come on they won't not do goblin at some point. More so if we got Harry around we have to see norman. And just slowly build it up. See why norman falls and becomes the goblin. And I am sure we could get a more comic accurate look from marvel. I said it before give me a mix of cap, winter solider, red skull and we get something grest looking.

Also we don't have to worry for first film we already know they are going with a villain we haven't seen yet. So I still say goblin or ock or venom probably won't be used again to 3rd film. But I do expect to see a minor role from norman, ock, brock, etc.. over series.

Just think about how cool Hobgoblin would be, though! They'd actually be able to fool people with his secret identity. Considering how convoluted it is, it'd be easy to trick people. I mean, probably half the non-comicbook fans out there erroneously think he's Harry Osborn, and the other half probably don't know.

The possible suspects could be Harry Osborn, Ned Leeds, Jason Macendale, Roderick Kingsley, even Richard Fisk if they wanted to give a nod to the way it should have played out. >:|

It'd be awesome.

Whether they go with the Green Goblin or Hobgoblin, I just hope they keep the costume exactly like the comic book, especially in regards to the dual coloring. Just one color throughout the whole suit is boring.

With every version of the Goblin we've seen thus far it's been a fully green suit, no purple. I want him to wear the damn hood, and I want him to have purple gloves/wristbands and purple boots.

Only way it's going to look ridiculous is if the mask is completely garbage. But if they get a great effects team they'll have nothing to worry about.

I completely agree. It will neither look ridiculous nor boring if they follow the comics here. Let me just re-post this since it was lost to the last page:

That doesn't look ridiculous. That looks scary.

And there's no reason it has to be restricted to the canon suspects, either. After all, its the mystery that's more important than the specific character; plenty of room to use whatever reasonable candidate the movies might introduce.

Agreed, GearMan, that is some fantastic art there. And I don't see why they ever got that impression...people go to these movies to see these characters embodied in a real life fashion. That element is negated if you're scared to adapt the character 100%.

There's always been a level of fear surrounding the Goblin. Willem Dafoe's performance was great and it's really the best version we've gotten thus far, but it could've been that much better if he was wearing the classic garb.

Honestly, I'd be happy with a movie quality costume based on the Island of Adventure costume.

Get a nice textured purple fabric and distress it. As for the arms and legs, some chainmail like Thor's is preferred.

Nailed it right on the head. I just want the classic look!

If I saw this in a live action Spider-Man movie, I'm not gonna lie...I'd burn everything Spider-Man related that I own and forgo my status as a fan.

Same, there's a fine line between comic booky good and comic booky bad. That's comic booky bad.

I do want something like the Goblin in the comics. But just at least somewhat modernized to make more sense. Because just like with the Spider-Man costume there's no way where getting an EXACT copy of whats in the comics. We may get somwthing shockingly similar. But there will undoubtedly be changes, even if small, here and there to let you know.

"This is the film version of the Goblin"

I'm going to assume you guys chose to ignore the detail where I said movie quality version, but then again, I've seen some horrible support in the Spidey costume thread feeling the same about them that you two feel about this.

...why do people feel so strongly about these things?

Because some people are more than fans, they're fanatics, and there's usually no pleasing those.

I'll be pleased with whatever we get as long as it looks good.

I highly doubt that, unless you're just being very extreme. That costume is still better than the Power Ranger we got in SM 2002... :o

Suit wise I brought up before for gobby. They could take a page from green artow. And have purple parts green parts of chest be vest and suit deal and drop the silly elf hat deal for hood. And makes it easier then yo see hobgkblin takes similar look if he ever is shown.

Firstly, if you think I was serious with my earlier statement that says more about you than I. Secondly, I'm nowhere near a fanatic but the above costume is pure garbage. Even the Dafoe & DeHaan versions look better than it.

Either way, it's not about being a fanatic or not being able to be pleased. It's about wanting to see this particular character finally be shown with the same appearance as in the comics.

That's not really asking for too much, now is it? Of course not.

Exactly how I feel. If it looks good and fits who the character is, then it has my support. Not every comic look would work on the big screen.

This one would, though. Someone like Electro? It'd be too goofy and would bring down the whole movie. But the Goblin has always been a character who could easily be adapted 100% as is.

I always thought they could do Electro with yellow electricity and a green containment suit, like Spectacular Spider-Man.

But not if they're going for flashy public Dark Reign Norman, which I think is the obvious choice. For that he'd want a more sleek, heroic suit. Maybe if he survives those events, then he can degrade into the trashy, raggid, classic look.

Ya i said it before if they can pull off red skull, winter solider, captain america suits pretty well. I am sure they can pull off a more comics correct look for goblin in the future. I as i said before could see suit wise be something like Arrow's Green arrow suit as suit base, do the green arrow hood thing to replace the silly elf hat look. Then either a face mask deal skull did, or make goblin mask something of a cross of winter solider cover faced/cap helmet-mask and we could get a solid look.

Ugh, I hope they don't go CW route with costumes. It's bad enough Agents of Shield does that.
