Maybe he just really want to wear an eyepatch.

Everyone has gone Pirate crazy recently.

Probably heard all the fuss over Johnny Depp in POTC and threw it on to match his "style".

it been a while since Hal has been headlining in his own title and people are curious, what wil happen next

thank you! the guy just came back from the dead and from being the spectre to. now he has to deal with the after math of what he's done to the corps and to the people he left for dead or so he thought. the guardians may have forgiven him, but the other lanterns have'nt and now he has to deal with that and the lost lanterns being alive thats what makes him so damn intresting and i want to find out how the whole thing plays out, issue 12 even points how hal is always running away from his past and responsibilities and i want to see how johns handles that. you can hate on the book for whats it doing but its being very well written. either suck it up or drop it and stop your ****ing *****ing, darth.

Hal Jordan used to be one of my favorite characters ever. I still have Emerald Dawn on my book shelf. I read the Parallax stuff and the storyline sucked so when Rebirth was announced I was thrilled, until I read the last couple of issues. So pretty much one of the more interesting moments in Hal's life, him going insane is thrown out the window because he caught the flu. So it wasnt really his fault. Addint to that a lame ass punch he landed on Batman. Ok, Rebirth was good, and I still like it, but now Johns has been doing everything possible to rectify all the bad things Hal did. All those lanterns he killed when he went crazy are alive. Yes, GAH, they were dead, I dont care how you spin it. But no, now theyre just taking long naps with the Manhunters, im sorry this is bull****. Hal has lost his edge, now hes just a perfect little angel who never has done anything in his life. The Corps members dont trust him, wow thats great it still doesnt change the fact that hes been absolved of any and all wrong doing. His character is borng and stale because Johns still wants him to be his silver age counterpart, guess what the silver age is over.

I kinda have to agree with Darth. Hal's just...flat now. He's not the roguish hero he used to be.

i fail to see how the character still sucks tho. you liked him before the whole parallax stuff happened(and you say it yourself the storyline sucked), so how the hell can you jump to finding him uninteresting because of rebirth?

anyway, seems like you just dont like the execution of the idea. that really doesnt even qualify as the character sucking. peter parker is still one of my favorite chracters, i dropped his book becasue i didnt like what they were doing to him, doesnt mean the character sucks tho. I don't get where your getting the whole hal is the operfect little angel where his past says he has'nt. i understand you dont like the direction of the book, thats cool. but it seems as just you hating on the book just to hate on it.
thecorpulent one was about ready to drop GL and TT and now he suddenly wants to keep reading because of roy harper and the mention of batgirl. seems more like a double edged sword. you can complain about geoff all ya want but we all know your gonna be reading one of his, it may not be GL or TT. but we all know you'll be picking up JSA.

WTF has that to do with anything? I liked Geoff Johns way before you jumped on his DC bandwagon, im talking freaking red Zone arc on Avengers. His GL title sucks, its almost universal in its suckage. Teen titnas is still good but needs to get rid of that teeny bopper ****. And hell yeha ill pick up his JSA because he ****ign mdae the JSA in the modern age. Lame ass argument. Corp wants to read GL because Alan's going to be in it, thats the only reason, not because its a good book. And that has nothing to do with me haitng the book. If Chuck Austen was writing this same exact GL arc id bet bottom dollar you'd be hating on it. Hypocrite.

not arguing that, just said he had it coming. and ive seen vllains who landed a couple of blows to batman.

how am i hypocrite i bet you cant even find one thread with me hating on austen. so you have no place to call me a hypocrite. never jumped on the austen bandwagon and never will. i honestly enjoyed his stint on action comics, was'nt that great but read able and i cant say i hated it. besides that I'havent read any of his other works. and if corp wants to see alan he should just read checkmate. makes no sense to read a book you hate just to see one character thats already appears and has a role in another book.

you pick up a new comic series because one of your favourite character is in it but you need more in the comic to keep getting more issue

LOL!!!!:D Natu dead? I thought it was a fairly transparent plot that Guy is doing it to flush out the "serial killer". IMO, it's obvious that the prince is the perp and Natu ISN'T dead.

Bingo. My thoughts excactly.

I wasnt talking about Austen. I was talking about that if Johns wasnt writing this title and the same story was going on, there would be a lot more hate for it. its getting mixed reviews as is.

My thoughts too.
We never see Soranik die.
But I hope that the Prince(Ragnar?) isn't the perp.
It would be more interesting if he takes the place of the GL that died earlier.
Plus where was Vath headed toward so quickly? Rann?

if the same story was going and was being very well written, chances are I'll still be reading it. still doesn't justify you calling me hypocrite, since you really can't tell how i would react to it. in your so called what if world.

"The GOAL shouldn't be to wallow in past continuity but to take a once viable franchise out of the mud, clean it up and polish it until it is nice and shiny. I don't really think anyone would have wanted to read 6 or 7 years of stories about Hal wracked with guilt and trying to atone for his crimes. We'd been there and done that as the Spectre and the truth is that nothing Hal did (including reigniting the sun) would atone for those crimes.

So we got the Yellow Bug of Fear and yes it was a contrivance, but it was a contrivance that did its job AND what we've seen is that the storytelling potential that comes w/ putting that whole chapter behind us is GREATER than it would be continue wallowing in the mud..

"Rebirth" worked because it allowed for a fresh start. And as a result of that fresh start, "Green Lantern" has gone from being a middle/low tier seller to being an entire franchise."(posted by reasonablefan). this pretty sums it up
