This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]538423[/split]
Yeah, I think tv's probably the better format for adaptations of fantasy novels so it's a trend I hope that continues.
The Lounge Runner.
Much like GoT, those early eps are really just planting seeds. Admittedly they didn't have a "hook" moment like the last scene of GoT's pilot, but once the seeds are planted, it gets pretty riveting, imo. It's easily my favorite sci-fi serial on TV right now.My buddy Jeremy keeps telling me to get into EXPANSE. Tried to get through the first two episodes of the show months back but it didn't grab me. I gotta give it another try.
I think that's true of a lot of source material with dense world-building. The Expanse, for example, would probably have been awful as a movie or movie series. I don't know if that was ever an option, but... TV was the better route.
One season per book is how I would like creators to treat a lot of fantasy novels out there.Oh yeah, the Expanse would be terrible as a movie.
I'm still hoping they re-do Harry Potter as a TV series some day. One season per book would be perfect for that, imo.
Anyone feel like we've had this lounge name before?![]()

How do you hope for something you never suggested? People aren't mind-readers!Was hoping for something like Shape of Lounge![]()
I really enjoyed how some of the characters progressed throught the show. Back in season one I wouldn't think Nog would be the type of person to join Star Fleet, [BLACKOUT]loose a leg, and develop PTSD. [/BLACKOUT]It's funny how Quark, Nog and Rom became such rich characters. Granted... I think shoe horning Quark into every story sometimes got tiresome but I loved the character and the actor.
If we quickly get a new lounge for the superbowl... we can respect the battle of beer run.
To the Lounge of Misery! Dilly Dilly!
I still wish they had used the Gorn instead of the Breen. The Breen were cool and all, but who wouldn't want to see a bunch of crappy reptile costumes talking to Cardassians and changlings? No one, that's who.I really enjoyed how some of the characters progressed throught the show.
