So, was I correct in hearing that the Marvel Legends line will be made up of Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon, Drax, Gamora, and..... comic book Nova and Iron Man!? All I want is the core team of 5 Guardians, so it's annoying that I'd have to buy yet another fricking Iron Man Toy in order to complete the Groot build-a-figure. If that's the case I might just not bother getting any.

The ML figures look pretty nice...except Gamora, she looks really funky. I'm so excited about that Nova figure though, the only ML Nova we have so far is literally the worst figure in the line.

So god awful, the new one looks really good. Nova, Groot & Star-Lord (with the mask on) look like the best of the bunch; Rocket has a good sculpt, but the lack of leg articulation is really disappointing...there should be no excuse for that.

or he's just not a Kree. It really doesn't matter what they do with Korath, maybe they made him a more compelling character. He's only had a handful of appearances and if it wasn't for him helping Ronan two times he'd be no better than a fodder Kree. There's nothing to really get right with him.

I've got to say, I'm genuinely surprised at how much product they're going to be releasing for this. I didn't expect this much.

It's all part of the marketing push.
They are almost working some voodoo on the masses to make them understand that this is a hit before it is a hit.

If you look at how this is trending and even check things like the Forbes article I linked in the box office thread you'll see everything about this is a big risk but it is a big risk that looks like it has high chance of paying off.

That's sort of why I was so surprised at the marketing push for GOTG. Because I didn't see a single Thor 2 action figure on the pegs. Then again, I wasn't really looking, but still. Captain America 2 doesn't seem to be having the same marketing problem that Thor 2 had. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that the merchandise from the first Thor film was warming the shelves long after even The Avengers came out. But then again, after two movie appearances, they didn't need a huge marketing push for Thor as much as they do for a lesser known property like Guardians.
