BrianWilly said:What's wrong with a comic book like Runaways reaching a wider audience? If they come aboard when he comes aboard and leaves when he leaves, what's the big deal? For that matter, what's wrong with reading books just because your favorite writer is writing them? Isn't that the point? Every single person here has an affinity to one writer or another and often follows that writer across different projects. How many of you here have said something like "[Writer] is going to write this book? I'm totally there." or "I think I'll drop this book when [Writer] leaves."? How is that in any way different from this situation?
And it's not like Joss is Justin Timberlake or something, I doubt there will be all that many "mainstreamers" drawn to his name just for the sake of his name. Most fans of Whedon are already genre fans.
I paved that road.
The only downside is what will this mean for the new serenity mini that's supposed to be coming out next year, oh and buffy season 8 as well. I hope joss can handle it
