Guillermo del Toro's The Strain coming to FX - Part 1

Justine, [blackout]you're my hero! You go tell 'em! The Mayor got outplayed so bad. :lmao:[/blackout]

Yeah God forbid the 1% have to give up some of their piles of cash. They might starve.:o

Did y'all notice that one of the words in the Lumen was "werewolf"?:D

So who was watching Zack while Eph and Dutch were scheming to kill Palmer and while Setrakian, Nora, and Fet were searching for the Lumen? Nora's girlfriend? Not a bright move when his vamp mom is hellbent on abducting and turning him.

It's seemingly no longer a triangle at least, but it was some half assed character development.

As much as I like the show it does not do characters very well.

So much for our theories
that Coco is a double agent. Seems liker purpose in this show is now clear. Blah.

The Lumen was very cool. It also showed a bit about the (book spoilers) [blackout]origin of the Master and the Ancients.[/blackout]

Poor Dutch. I actually like her (minus the whole love triangle crap). That last scene reminded me of Saw. I had to laugh that of course in the preview for next week, Eichorst is giving her make up. Eichorst is really Team Master's make up artist! :lmao:

Yeah, the love triangle seemed to just abruptly return this episode and it felt out of nowhere. Suddenly she does have feelings for him but it's very random.

And Coco, I have no idea what to make of her character. I still think hope there is something deeper going on there. Otherwise it is either a shallow or weakly written out plotline, depending on where she ends up and what her true motivation is.

I do like how she is making them quite literally pay for once. The entitled take too much for granted and now they see they won't be getting a free pass. She was right too, look at their reaction, that they might actually have to contribute something instead of taking it away (much like how they always see anyone who is poor)?

I was hoping that [BLACKOUT]the Master would straight up turn Coco as well as/instead of healing her[/BLACKOUT]. Would've added more and perhaps enhanced the hate Eldrich Palmer would have for Eph.

Was watching re-runs of The Tudors and The Borgias and the actress that plays Dutch was in both these shows. Knew I'd seen her before....

That was a bummer [ending.] But, I loved the EC Comics nature of it; it reminded me of the one comic where the guy who is visiting his sister discovers the town she is staying in is inhabited by vampires, and they serve every blood-centric dish at the diner.

Oh, this episode got messed up in a hurry. As if Eichhorst being a Nazi vampire wasn't enough...

Episode 11 "Dead End" I thought the Eichhorst and Dutch Velders scenes were really creepy and I liked the way he brutally killed that cop to open the episode. Kind of funny how different Eichhorst was in the flashbacks and I liked that contrast. Great seeing Dutch try to rescue herself too and I thought the actress really nailed the traumatic experience.

Dutch is one of my favorite characters, I like her best with Fet and hope they work things out.

This is one of the few episodes that had me clutching my seat. Once he sat down and told Dutch to take off her pants...I KNEW! I KNEW! I just KNEW! He was planning on doing some freaky vamp tongue action on her. I for sure thought she would be a goner or at least infected. Glad neither happened.

I figured something like that might happen earlier with Coco and Palmer but Palmer is still intact as it were.

I wonder if Palmer doesn't use protection (did they? idk) that he would transfer some of his worms through sex, thus infecting the other person.

He doesn't have the worms, just the White. The white blood is what is used for the healing properties, whereas the worms themselves are what transforms a human into a Strigoi.

Just saw someone on Tumblr complaining that tonight was "extra" on antisemitism.

It's a show with a f***ing nazi vampire on it, what the **** is the expectation here?! HE'S A GODDAMN NAZI VAMPIRE! Do you want him to be cuddly?! Jesus ****ing Christ...

They also brought up sexual assault, which I think there is a bit more ammunition in regards to what they did with Dutch, so I knew that would be an issue, but the antisemitism angle?! Are people walking into this with their eyes closed?!? Goddammit, these people....

Well that **** was thoroughly ****ed up. Someone needs to rip that tongue out of Eichhorst's face.

No wonder the master passed on him and went with the goth dude. Dude's got some issues.

Great scenes with Dutch and Eich. She was feisty and fought for herself. And he's such an evil sadistic nazi. His flashbacks were interesting though. He's all messed up. Glad she's alive.

So who was looking after Zack again?

I thought Eichorst's backstory on what lead him to be a Nazi was interesting. So being power hungry was always in his blood.

Dutch is one of my favorite characters, I like her best with Fet and hope they work things out.
Eh she's all right. She played a part into this vamp apocalypse. Even though she's been trying to make up for it since the damage was already done.
