Naomi was one of the things I loved about Power Rangers, so I'm glad to see that she's been casts as Jasmine.

I hope that Aladdin's actor looks more like him though the closer they get to filming.

I feel like Kingsley would ham it up and chew scenery. Not in a good way. Thunderbirds/Bloodrayne Kingsley.

Kingsleys best roles as a villain for me is in in Sexy Beast. That required him to shout expletives in Ray Winstone's face throughout the movie and generally be a crazy scumbag who threatens to cut people's hands off and use them as ash trays. Not really Disney musical fairy tale material.

And I too hope the actors can sing if they are going that route if not save eberyone the disappointment and just dub it with real singers.

By casting Will Smith, they're going closer to Howard Ashman's vision of the Genie which is more a Fats Waller/Cab Calloway which the Broadway version is like.

It'll be interesting if Abu is kept, Iago could easily be a human but bringing in Aladdin's three friends who were cut from the animated film but retain in the stage version would work as well.

I actually quite liked that aspect of the broadway show

It's interesting that people are suggesting singers from little mix and one direction. I know he would never get it but Zayn does look uncannily like Aladdin.

Nah I don' think he has the right look for Jafar.

Remember Jafar has strong connections to having sleek, snake qualities even when in human form.

I'm wondering who can play the Sultan?

I'm thinking Danny DeVito could do a great job if he has the right beard
