Looks like they're basing Genie's look of the Broadway show. Considering they were hinting at taking cues from that version, I'm not surprised.

everybody has his own opinion but i can't or will never understand why outrages on pictures are always bigger as after actual footage is released , because all posters or magazine covers are Photoshopped to the ultimatum

I like the costumes. The colors are also vibrant and nice.
Will Smith looks a bit ridiculous. But hey, the genie has an inherently ridiculous look to him too. Him not being blue... i'm ok with it. I'm more interest in how he will portray the character than a simple color. The Grandmaster in Ragnarok was also suppose to be blue because of the comics, he wasn't in the movie and Goldblum's portrayal ended up being a shining aspect of the movie.

I'm ok with the cover. It's just a picture with people in costumes.

I agree with this. As long as Will's great in the role, I'm happy with this. On a side note, I actually like Aladdin and Jasmine's appearance. Jasmine's outfit looks VERY reminiscent of her animated outfit's color and look.

Yeah I think we were expecting genie to be a CG character that kinda resembled his cartoon version. But they ain't trying to emulate Robin I guess.

EW covers always tend to be kind of weak. This one was ok.
Still images are one thing... let's see how the real deal shapes up... Gotta see a decent trailer for it.

Reading the article at the moment. They quoted a line Genie has early on and it's got me sold.

When Aladdin first stumbles across the lamp in the Cave of Wonders, a big cerulean cloud whooshes out of the spout, forming into Smith’s goateed Genie, complete with a topknot. After a quick musical introduction, Smith’s swagger shines through as he asks a dumbstruck Aladdin, “You really don’t know who I am? Genie…wishes…lamp? None of that ringing a bell? Wow, that’s a first.”

Yeah, that line sounds VERY Will Smith to me. THAT's the guy I grew up seeing in ID4 and Men in Black. Now I'm excited for this!

Not liking that Genie isn't blue...

Also, none of the other 2 actors seem particularly.. engaging.

I don't know how to explain it, but something seems a bit.. off.

Jafar looks way too hunky.

Numan Acar who's playing the captain of the guard (IIRC) looks way more "Jafar" than Jafar.
