They hadn't really confirmed anything regaarding it so I was honestly wondering if they were gonna cheap out with that. Being Disney they have more than enough resources to recreate the animated version so it seemed odd.

I do think the Cave of Wonders is a little cheap. I know they can't go full on moving and talking cave.

Yeah, but still, most people are jumping on the design for not being blue based on a picture from an article that clarifies he will indeed be blue. At this point, it's just a case of not bothering to read.

Thanks. For some reason the EW site was only showing the pics of Aladdin and Genie and Aladdin and Jasmine on my phone.

I’m liking all of the new looks save for Aladdin’s 1910s baseball player pinstripe undershirt.

I’m also excited that Genie will have a bigger CGI form.

UPDATE: Will posted on Instagram saying Genie IS primarily going to be a blue CGI character most of the movie and that the human look is a disguise for certain scenes. Guess the effects aren't ready for him yet so they didn't have any photos of that look because of it.

This thing's getting pretty eviscerated on reddit lol. IMO, Jafar is way too good looking. He's probably gonna end up as most females' villain crush or something after this movie.

Also, Jafar being handsome here makes PERFECT sense. Remember, in the original movie he's constantly trying to hypnotize the Sultan into agreeing to let him him marry Jasmine, so it'd make sense Jafar would be attractive regardless of age. He certainly wasn't ugly in the original movie if I recall.

It's not? Genie even makes fun of Jafar for being ugly in the original movie. "I see the part of Al will be played tonight by a tall dark and sinister ugly man"

I think Genie's human look is a pretty clear nod to the Broadway version. I can't believe there's this much outcry over a transforming blue character not being revealed in a still photo. Wait, no I can.

You don't cast a well known black box office icon and then disguise that fact in CGI. They're going to want Will Smith's face plastered everywhere. I get it, the blue genie is classic, but I wish people would use some critical thinking skills if they're going to criticize.

I have a bigger issue with the stripes and a general lack of Iago feeding the Sultan crackers. Eh.

Either give Jasmine a midriff or don't. Don't try to fake it with the skin color part of her top
