'H2', Rob Zombie's sequel to 'Halloween'

danmn good review, CFE. Put upall the pro's and Con's in a very fair manner.

I was thinking and I know some wouldn't like this Idea, But I think H3 could be done in a F13 Part 5 type of way.

Like a film crew comes to haddonfield and want to make a film based on all the events of the town. The town is really against it, but they need the movie and eventually agree to it. And things are going well until things start to happen and there are sightings of Micheal and that's when the killings begin and at the end its revealed its not Micheal, but someone else. And one of Micheal's victims was close to the now killer. Kinda like something from the Original My Bloody Valentine. Of seeing the person killed by Micheal and it effected them. And them making a movie of the events and the persons family member being tainted as they would think just snaps.

I know some might say thats spitting in the faces of the other movies, but if it was done the right way I'd say it could work. And if not a movie, then a documentary about the town of Haddonfield and its most famous resident.

How about Halloween 3-D: The Ghost of Michael Myers, where Michael is a ghost killing people, and the only way to stop the killing is to kill the ghosts earthly conduit, which is escaped mental patient Laurie Strode/ Angel Myers?

I guess that could work. Still, though, I think that Michael will actually be the killer and this wil ltake place in a different continuity.

Nice review CFE. I think that was the last push I needed to check this film out. To be honest I'm so bored and fairly done with slasher films anyways that I think I'm at the point where I don't give a damn what Rob changed to make it his own vision, that includes taking off the mask near the end. I'll probably check it out this weekend.

this is what Carpenter originally wanted to do with Halloween 2, wasn't it? i really like it.

Sorta. He wanted the ghost to walk around and people still be scared. Theres much more I forget. Its online somewhere. More likely IMDB. Thats what they wanted for part 4.

Series creator John Carpenter wrote a treatment for this film, that was a more ghostly psychological approach to the Michael Myers mythos. It concerned the town of Haddonfield and what effect the events of the first two films have had on the it's citizens. This concept was later rejected by the producers in favor of the typical slasher fare, at which point in time John Carpernter bailed out of the film, making this the first film in the series to have no participation from him.

I want them to go back to the old continuity. At least give Michael a proper send-off beyond Resurrection. I hate to say it, but at least kill him or something. Get Josh Harnett to come back to be the final piece, the last of the bloodline for now that Michael wants, and have him kill him. Come on, maybe even Josh's character wants revenge sinc eMichael actually got Laurie in resurrection.

Good luck. They're not going to leave the current canon because they don't want to pass up the title Halloween 3-D (lame? Obviously. But My Bloody Valentine in 3D wasn't exactly a winner either and that was a big hit).

Besides why go back? Laurie and Loomis is dead and Resurrection showed how lost you are without either character. You're upset the canon is confusing or incomplete. The series has essientially ended or discontinued itself three times. Halloween II (the original) clearly ended with Michael Myers as dead. Yet, he is back with no real explanation in Halloween 4 and so is Dr. Loomis with mild burns. Then Halloween 5 and Halloween 6 made some ****** supernatural turns and the plotline got dropped like it never happened in H20. And H20 repeated Halloween II and again clearly ended the series by killing Michael off for good....and then they made Resurrection.

Just pretend that POS doesn't exist and say it ended with H20 or the original Halloween II. Kind of like how if we pretend Halloween (2007) was a stand alone movie, it isn't dragged down by a sequel that features a psychic Laurie-Michael connection, Loomis as a selfish primadonna and a sad (SPOILER)death for Annie(SPOILER).

I like to think the original series ended wit Halloween II (you may want to use H20) and Zombie's....well Halloween II wasn't H6 or Resurrection bad to the point where it killed its continuity and got retconned...but I really don't want to see a Halloween 3(D) either.

Wouldn't mind seeing Night Dance turned into a film. Great interwoven characters and some brutal kills.

I'll give you gore but nudity?
Lynda was pretty nude in the original and her scenes is one of the most popular scenes because of it...

That was just one scene though. There's a difference. In the remake, it's bit excessive.

Halloween 3D, where the Killer is a wannabe, but not the real MM. Ala Jason the new blood.

You too seem to be like the yin and yang of this board. Who is who is subjective.

Indeed. I cannot stand this attitude bestowed apon this thread. Its ****ing re-tarded.

I know he has me on ignore, but thats because i'm right, and being right hurts his head. He cant take anyone having a different opinion then he does.

I'm really, really hoping they don't do "Halloween 3" next.

This series really needs another reboot that ignores what Zombie has done imo.

It would be in the best interest to start over again after some time, but they won't happen.

And their gonna come up with some stupid reason.

Well why not do Laurie as the killer? Keep it a slasher like people want, but continue from Zombie's vision. Yeah, I know people love Michael, but it's not like we don't have 11 films of him stalking and slashing. At least it would be somewhat new.

Perhaps they all think Michael Myers has returned and then surprise, to them (not the audience) it's Laurie. Or you could double bluff and make it a la Psycho where they release her and she is seeming to be stalked by Michael Myers and she sees him everywhere and he kills people in Haddonfield again. And then you realize it's in her head and she is the killer. Now, how do you accomplish this without the audience noticing the killer shrank about 3 feet and 200 hundred pounds? You could make it like Fight Club and establish she is IMAGINING Michael doing it and we see that vision, but it is really Laurie.

Original? No. For the series or slashers in general? Very.

But what would be the reason she is killing people? And just don't say cause shes crazy.
