Wonder if Zombie will release 2 versions as he did with the first movie. A 3 disc 7 hour behind the scenes making of version.

If you ask me, he should just put the super long documentary on the first set of DVD's that come out.

Saw the flick today. I really liked it. Zombie took a Halloween film in a different direction which I dug. Seeing Michael surviving like a bum was interesting. The scene where the two guys give him a beat down was great, especially when he stood up and slipped the mask on. The deaths were gross as ****, and that's what I wanted to see in this slasher film.

Seeing all these characters after the events and evolving the story around that, like Loomis being a dick made the story for me a much enjoyable film. Also some of the imagery was pretty trippy.

I also liked how Michael was trapped in the shed surround by the police in the end. I don't think Myer's was ever hunted like that.

Some stuff I didn't like. It seemed like every person was listening to the same kind of music, like it was a playlist from Zombie's ipod. Didn't get how Laurie was seeing the same things Michael was? Did they even give a reason how Michael survived a bullet to the head?

All in all, it's better than seeing Busta Rhymes taking on Michael!

That was more Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers though, thats when I thought that series started to go downhill as it seemed to shift more into Jason territory in terms of never dying..

It's good stuff, actually. I like the above a lot - 'sounds like something you could have heard in Carpenter's original. It's obviously reminiscent of Laurie's original theme.

Still not as bad as "***** I will skull **** the **** out of you!" or "I heard they had to pump the *** out of your mothers stomach" or "that **** gym teacher needs to get layed" or "I'm going to have a ****ing pumpking smashing party right here in the street" with a child you're babysitting...or a lengthy rant about ****ing corpses, or shoving your frankenstein stick into some ditzy stripper, or golden showers, or weird al talk show sequences, etc...

Amazing how many stars pop up whenever discussing Zombie's dialogue...sort of the antithesis of the reaction that most of his work sparks.

This movie finally came out today. I actually liked it for a sequel. Definitely better in character development compared to the Friday 13th remake. Michael's brutality was shocking but it did not feel like the typical slasher film. There are some social issues which Rob doesn't really elaborate in this film. I think that works for it. That keeps some of the mystery that was lacking in the the first film. Introducing a mix of ghosts and hallucinations were a good homage to the H-films that Danielle starred in. I bet she saw the irony of the dream sequence where Scout/Laurie taped her to the chair while dressed in Michael's Halloween costume.

Overall, I think this movie was more about finishing off what happened in the first film, even as the survivors were trying to deal with it. That sinking ship called the Weinsteins should let this remake end here. Then they can let some other young Turk bring it back to the traditional view of the franchise.

Well as far as the Weinsteins are concerned its not for right now. With how much they are in debt and such and might even have to sell off the Halloween franchise to make money.
