Spanish= sexy
German= angry
Russian= like you're going to steal my "vissiles" and AK's
Chinese= genius
Japanese= racist
African= funny
Canadian= eh?

¿Es esto un chiste?
Sé a muchos chinos que odia personas japoneses, pero es extraño llamas un idioma racista.

¡Es mejor que la mayoría!
¡Gracias!
Practico mucho, pero tengo tanto aprender.

¿Para qué estudias el español?

"es" unless you feel YOU are important in today's world.
and "el" before mundo.

I agree, Bubonic. I'm learning it since it compliments my future background. Hopefully once I've got Spanish down, I'll move on to learning Arabic. That's where the big bucks are. :p Especially for someone like me.

and Mr Sparkle, he needed to use SER and LLEVAR as much as possible in his introduction.

No hablo espaňol en diez aňos. No (*looks up "to remember"*) recordo muy palabras.

And I've apparently forgotten how to conjugate verbs in any tense other than present. God, that's horrible.

I do feel I'm important in todays world :oldrazz:, regardless, that wasn't my original intention with the statement. It's little things like that which I make mistakes in.
I've got a long way to go, so far I'm doing alright, somewhere in the B's, but we haven't touched on the true future tense, for now we use voy a + infinitive.
I have particular problems with direct-object pronouns, figuring out when it's better to use lo instead of el, mi instead of me, te instead of ti, and remembering I can tack on the direct-object pronoun at the end of infinitive... Definitely not an easy language.

Compliments your future background? Planning on finding yourself a guapísima chica?
I got heavy linguistic ambitions but I don't know if the reality will match up, Spanish gets quite hard at times and I'm not even deep in it.
English I can excel at, yet French, my mother tongue, I speak fluently yet can't write it worth for crap.
I'm taking Intensive Spanish as a 6 credit complimentary at university, which is a gamble with my GPA, but so far so good.
Planning on taking the intermediate, conversational, and maybe a literature class as complementaries if all goes well.

After school I'm not sure how I'll get around to learning new languages. Mandarin is what I want to learn though. For starters.

Whoa....A 6 credit Spanish course?...I'm just learning Spanish on the side..like a hobby of mine. It's not directly related to my major at all. lol. I'll probably take a college course on it eventually.

Mandarin is one my list as well.

It definitely lives up to the "Intensive" part of the title.
Thing is, after my 3 years I've got to accumulate 90 credits, about half of those are complementaries and I decided after taking a couple of decent ones that I'd delve into language as it's practical almost any way you look at it.
The class is twice a week 3 hours a shot, and we get loads of homework, here is a site she encourages us to visit... I've hardly had time but it seems like a great learning tool and it's free, tell me what you think.
Spanish Grammar Exercises
I think it's a real gem.

The class isn't related to my major though, definitely will come in useful though.
