Three great GL's, but who will be chosen as the main character?

Personally, I want Hal Jordan.

I love his origin and I love his attitude. He is fearless and has integrity. (Forget Parallax! You never heard of him.)I want to see Wally West and Hal Jordan kickin it together. I want to see a young Hal Jordan full of life, vigorous, and strong-willed. A perfect mirror to Sinestro, who is greedy, wants all of the glory, and lusts for power.

On the other hand, John Stewart is great too. He doesn't have a strong origin, but he was chosen as Hal's replacement. That says a lot. I also love his inner strength. He is more mysterious than Hal, who is an open book. I also liked John on the Justice League cartoon. He really balanced out the team.

Hell no to Kyle Rayner! Liked the character, but no way!!!

We already know it's Hal. There's a script review already, and the movie's going to be a basic Hal Jordan origin story. And it should be.

as other poster said if wb is going with the greg berlanti script it will be hal jordan film with possibly cameos from guy/etc..... and if the film does well maybe in sequels we will see guy/kyle/john pop up.

I personally want a Hal origin but I have to admit that this is one of those cases where WB could do something kind of outside of the norm for a superhero movie and have it focus on a two-man team of Hal/Kyle, Hal/John or Hal/Guy. It could be the first real "buddy cop" superhero movie. Not saying that it should happen that way, but it could be interesting, and it would emphasize the aspect that GL isn't one hero, but an elite network of heroes.

If Flash features Barry, then you gotta go with Hal. If it features Wally, then the Green Lantern should be either John or Kyle, those go better together.

I'd like to see a real black superhero after Hancock, and before War Machine in Iron Man II because he's more of a supporting role, so I think the case for John is a stronger one than the case for Hal.

And the fact the Kyle was a cartoonist was waaay more interesting to me than Hal being a pilot. More potential for constructs.

If Flash is Barry, then GL's gotta be Hal. Likewise for Flash.

and it should be Hal. Totally. he's the greatest GL. nuff said. he's what barry is to flash. :D

In my opinion they should go with Hal, Kyle, John, and Guy. Green Lantern should be epic, Sinestro Corps-esque.

Sinestro Corps is your third movie plot.

Honestly, I think the whole Parallax thing should just be avoided. I mean congrats to Johns for working around it, but for so long it was just seen as a blight against the character. Just like we'll never see the clone saga in Spider-man movies.

Also it's got to be Hal Jordan. There's no reason to put Guy, John, and Kyle in a first movie. That's ridiculous. You maybe have one other person, I believe according to IESB, Guy is also in the script but that's it.

Also pretty simple. If Green Lantern movies are a success and people fall in love with Hal Jordan well . . . why would you want to ruin that in a JL movie?

You can use elements of Parallax and EMERALD TWILIGHT without having him turn into a full villain. Hal could be tempted by the power, and start to turn, but not quite lose himself.

I meant using the scale of the series not the plot. I'd want a version of Sinestro Corps in the second movie. Third would be Blackest Night. And why is it ridiculous to have more than one lead? Its the Green Lantern Corps after all. Why not play up that aspect and the "four musketeers" like Johns has?

:up

More John Stewart Please

Because they aren't making a GREEN LANTERN CORPS. movie.

That doesn't make it ridiculous, just a different idea than what they are doing. Its an equally viable direction to the current one. I certainly wouldn't mind a Hal origin film. Hell I wouldn't mind any Green Lantern film. I would just prefer a Corps movie.

Hal as the main for the first obviously. Destroy Coast City in a sequel, introduce parallax, and have kyle as a temporary main character for a movie and bring the corps back. But have John and Guy appear fairly frequently, as well as the rest of the GL Corps, but don't make it a GL corps movie.

But a Sinestro Corps movie shouldn't be rushed, as some people seem to think. They should develop Sinestro, give Hal some Tragic moments(Coast City, Parallax, etc.), develop Kyle, and make it a Big threat.

I think that if you start from scratch you have to go Hal. Save Guy, John, Kyle, and the rest of the corps for a larger role in a sequel.

Hal Jordan all the way baby! But the cameo by Kyle Rayner sounds completely cool. I would also like a cameo by Guy Gardner. Those are the three GL's I think rock. Not a fan of Stewart at all.... and before anybody says it, no, it is not because he's black. There are plenty of black characters I love and wanna see in live-action. I just honestly don't find Stewart an interesting character at all.

I don't mind if they do a film with the Sinestro Corps as the bad guys, but please, call them something else. That name just sounds so silly. Not Sinestro (although that's silly too in its own right but you can't change his name) just don't call his legion of evil the Sinestro Corps. I'd rather they not even have an actual name than use that.

All of em. I like them better as a team with the whole Corps behind them. I like that its 4 guys who would never be friends who are great at what they do but are constantly doubted by other lanterns because they are human. Its an interesting take.
