Halle Berry asking for an X-men 4.

It says Halle is asking fans to write into Fox for a fourth installment of X-men.

What do we think? Anyone heard anything similar?

I read about it after last night's People's Choice Awards. What she said is legit. She is urging us to write to FOX make X4 possible.

Well, I think a main reason she wanted to leave was due to Bryan Singer. I'm assuming she had a much better experience with another director and can enjoy her character now.

I don't get it. People want there to be an X4 right? And this is probably the biggest movie franchise she's ever been so involved with. It's only obvious she wants to do more.

Actually, she's got dramatic stuff lined up from what I've read. She just started preproduction on Class Act. This year she releases Perfect Strangers opposite Bruce Willis and Things We Lost In The Fire with Oscar winner Benicio Del Toro. Rumor has it that her performance in the latter film should get her another Academy Award nod.

I DO NOT want a recast character. It turns so much of the audience off and is very distracting to a story.

Hmmm. That's a good question Neto.

Honestly? I'd rather have Bryan Singer back in the saddle but not without Halle as well. I'd prefer a compromise because recasts jack up continuity. Therefore, I would hope that these two professionals can work out their differences and give us a great film.

All Bryan has to do is continue on the same motif that Brett introduced in X3--as far as action sequences for Storm. But he needs to give her personality some development...which requires better writers. I really don't have much faith in any of the writers they've had involved with these X-films when it comes to Storm.

They just don't know what they're doing IMHO.

I want the franchise to end for now.

Those are two very curious options.

Why couldn't we have an X4 with Singer, but with Halle as Storm? Or do you know something we don't!

The writers of all three movies have so far failed to fully understand the character - X3 got closest, and would have been closer still if that origin dialogue on the balcony hadn't been chopped out by whichever Scissorhandz did the editing on this movie.

X3 at least gave us emotion, presence, flight, the link of weather and emotions, and the power to disperse weather as well as create it. The origin scene would have helped immensely in showing Storm's motivation for her anger over the cure.

I will commend X3's writers for trying hardest with the character and coming closest to understanding her. Even though they were still quite a way off.

No offense Neto, but Singer won't be returning. I said the same thing in another thread, but he'll be busy for the next three years cleaning up the mess he made with Superman.

Good riddance.

Now if only Fox could get rid of Brett "Bright Idea" Ratner, and any writer who had anything to do with any of the scripts that made it to film (ahuh including Whedon)...yea now we're talking.

Keep the cast. Sure critics and fans have a problem with members of the cast, but critics/fanboys < the general public.

As I've said before, Fox not using Halle's popularity, fame, appeal, and general presence would just be stupid. I know that they'll never tap into her dramatic skills. So she's going to be Storm again if there is an X4.

Now if Storm could be Storm....

I know movieverse isn't mainline, but it would be nice to see her be more than a tool or emotional baggage in the film.

What kind of dialogue did that unreleased "origin scene" contain? Was it really enough to help explain her attitude about the cure?

... Which is ridiculous. She is the headmistress of the school. She has to figure in the story in some way.

Here's what we need:

1) Halle returning
2) Long hair (greyish tint, straight with no curls or bangs)
3) High(er) heels, boots worn OVER the leather pants
4) no more fog or lightning
5) subtle use of powers such as micro-storm to water garden or miniature storm cloud created in palm of hand...
6) one scene showing a big weather power we have not yet seen (waterspout? Air pressure dome? ball lightning - either multiple balls used to bombard enemy or single ball as a flashlight in darkness)
7) photo on her desk showing young Storm wearing the tribal head-dress or scene with her swimming/sunbathing and wearing Storm's comicbook top and booty shorts linked by the metal ring.
8) Warmth/compassion as well as pride/anger
9) Meaningful, correct dialogue
