You mean they haven't got what it takes to portray a rich kid with a nice personality?
The darkness within that comes out and drives Harry mad, will happen later on. You just have to trust someone's acting ability.

Forgive me if I am wrong (it may be from an appearance of his in something else) but that appearance in Gotham as "Joker" seems to have done a lot for Monaghan's reputation. I never even heard of him before that appearance but boy was he good. He absolutely nailed that "Joker" impression IMO.

Oh i dont want him as gobby either yet. I want to see goblin done right and be Norman. But i dont want goblin off bat either. Have harry ans norman as supporting guys. And then by 3rd film do goblin. Then phase four do dark reign seige with norman going after rest of mcu.

It likely wouldn't be a kid. Like peter actor when they audition for harry and others they likely will go like peter have a likely wide age of 16 to 24 yrs old. Or once peter is set find picks who are compare able to him. Plus also counts on his character age or if we even see in first film.
