Cast GPD's Det. Who should play him in Nolan or Future Films? Should they make him thin? Since Flass was fat in Batman Begins.

I disagree. I think Bullock from Batman: The Animated Series was an excellent addition to the Batman world, and he was nothing like Flass.

Bullock isn't flat-out dirty, he just bends the rules. The episode "A Bullet for Bullock" is superb. I always liked his character. I think it's a great foil to have a cop who is AGAINST the idea of having a vigilante patrolling the city. Once Commissioner Loeb is removed (which is inevitable, because Gordon is going to become the Commissioner), Batman won't have anybody in the city who is against the idea of him. And then, add to that Bullock is an interesting character - dirty, scruffy, unethical but moral cop - and I think Bullock should be included in Batman Begins sequels.

The Bullock from The Animated Series is different than the Bullock from the comics. In the beginning Bullock was a corrupt cop to sabotage Gordon's action and health.

I'd love for Harvey Bullock to be in the third Batman film. And someone came up with the inspired suggestion of Forest Whitaker to play the part:

Pre-Crisis. Post-Crisis, he was loyal to Gordon from the start.

Terms like "Pre-Crisis" and "Post-Crisis" work for Superman or Wonder Woman, but Batman's world wasn't changed that much. The Bullock from 1983 was the same as the Bullock from 1987.

I actually like the idea of having a black bullock, just to differentiate him from Flass a bit more, but to be honest I REALLY can't see him taking such a small role in a Batman film like that, let alone ANY role in a Batman film.

Great choice, though.

Not really. Batman was the same in a lot of ways, but a lot of characters were tinkered with in minor ways. Bullock included. With him, the change made to his continuity was that he'd always been loyal to Gordon.

Yeah, some minor aspects had been changed, but it was basically the same world. Not like Superman were everything was erased. Batman remained to 98% the same.

Where did they say that Bullock was not corrupt in an post-crisis issue? In a recent issue something about Bullock's bad past was stated. I don't know. :ninja:

From Wikipedia:

Character History

Pre-Crisis on Infinite Earths, Bullock was a crooked police detective under instructions from Gotham City's Mayor Hamilton Hill to sabotage Commissioner Gordon's career. His method of doing so was to pretend to be exceedingly clumsy, thereby spoiling whatever Gordon was trying to do, seemingly accidentally. After inadvertently giving Gordon a heart attack, however, Bullock turned over a new leaf. His character later developed into a well-meaning cop who (probably) was exceedingly clumsy, similar to the later animated version. He also formed a close bond with Robin, based initially on their mutual love of old movies. Subsequent to this, he was a Bishop in the spy organization Checkmate.

Post Crisis

Post-Crisis, Bullock was perhaps the most controversial police officer in the Gotham City Police Department. His colleagues in the Major Crimes Unit will swear up and down that he is a good cop, despite his reputation for taking bribes, police brutality, and ties to organized crime being on the top. However, he also has elements of the earlier character including a fondness for doughnuts and a hidden sentimental streak. Bullock was loyal to Gordon from the start. Even before he made detective, he stayed by Gordon and helped him foil the Joker's plot to flatten Gotham City, without Batman's help. Bullock played (or was) the part of the 'bad cop', intimidating and threatening whoever needed it.

A Gandolfini-esque actor would be very cool.

I always thought John Goodman. But I like the idea of James Gandolfini.
