I remember reading on the THR newsletter that initially Reeves' script was 160 pages (making approximately for a 160 minutes long film). Maybe Dent was in there (was he replaced with Gil Colson?) along with more villains because then WB told him to shorten it. Maybe there were casualties on the villain department.

I assumed that Strong was the first choice for Gil Coulson (codenamed "Wasserman"). That's why everyone assumes he was Dent. I suppose he could play Dent, but if we're talking Succession actors, I'd rather have Matthew Macfadyen.

I’m only half serious. I’ve been watching some of Succession recently and though they clearly had bigger names in mind for a villain like Penguin... I could see him in the role.

I get that being from Guatemala might mean that Oscar Isaac is considered a member of a minority group in the U.S. But Javier Bardem? Isn't he's just a white guy from Europe?

Exactly. So, while I don't know if he could pull off the accent or if it would be the right role for him, I don't see how it could be considered a race change.

I'd say because he's not caucasian American I guess. Visually he's also more brown skinned that what Harvey is generally depicted as.
