I wasn't on alot of forums when TDK came out, and I was just curious after re-watching recently but how did people react to the First look of Two-Face in that film? Was it first revealed in pics, trailer, or the actual film? What was the general reaction?

The film. There were leaks I think but the official first look was in the movie.

I remember a leak beforehand and it was relatively close to what we got in the film. Think I remember folks being pretty shook at the time.

I really hope there's some moments like that in this movie too. Always so fun when you're genuinely caught off guard by something in a movie.

The “realism” bug was so widespread back then, people were even downplaying Two-Face’s most defining feature. Literally. I still remember all those manips which barely had any scars at all.

Two-Face was kind of revealed, or at least his presence as a villain definitively confirmed, in a promo clip a little month before the release of the actual movie.
It was a sneak peek of his confrontation with Wurtz, ending on an alternate take, not revealing Dent's face (or faceS, am I right ?! ... hum ... nevermind).



The full look was indeed kept secret until the film hitting theaters but the concept art posted above by @Boom was definitively floating around on the web and for sure, on this board.
