Have gamers ever had it as good as us?

In my 19 years on this Earth, I've yet to find anything that I can really ignore. Your quest is doomed.

Oblivion is a good game, but gets hugely repetititve quite quickly, it's not so much fun, but more of a "let's see how tough my character is" rather than enjoying what you can do with them etc.

You must suck pretty badly at Oblivion, because that's exactly what I used to do with my character. One moment I play an assassin, then I'm working for the thieves guild, I experiment my hand at becoming a vampire, do some main quests, join the Mages guild and play with the whole spell customization system...the possibilities are endless. It's not our fault that you're playing Oblivion like a dumbass with your "let's see how tough my character is" style. :ninja:

Halo 3 was quite a dissapointment to be honest, they haven't advanced too much from the first in terms of the gameplay's fun level.

Well considering how goddamn fun the first one was, I don't see how that's a bad thing.

True. U can play Oblivion in so many ways!!! At first I was a hands on guy - getting into a lot of sword fights.....but then I thought Id focus more on magic...so I did....Then I became a Gladiator....Then I became the Ultimate Fighting champion of the world.

Oblivions follow up from Bethsada (spl?) Fallout 3 looks very good as well....

If you're not playing Oblivion like it's "Thief 4" you're missing out.

I switch between crazy melee beast and sneaky assassin. If only you had the option to make one of your eyes glow green...

If Bethesda succeeds in getting the rights to Thief, I'll crap myself in happiness.

Well, if they do, hopefully they'll succeed in making it a true successor to the Thief legacy. Man, do I miss Ion Storm right about now.

I'm just happy Irrational delivered with Bioshock, as it made saying goodbye to Ion a little bit easier. Also, confirmation of Deus Ex 3 development is a vote of confidence.

However, with Warren Spector now working at Disney's game studios, I can't imagine what he could possibly be working on.

Disney owns DreamWorks, the production company behind Collateral.

So I'm just going to convince myself that he's making a Collateral game.

Tom Cruise is too crazy to be featured in any video game. Even his pixelated alterego. He might jump up and down on couches and join the Church of Sci-fientology in the game as well.

:csad:

Yea dude, this upcoming holiday season will be fantastic. Its already begun for me with Call of Duty 4 and pretty much will be topped off with Assassins Creed. I cant put into words how excited i am for Creed, iv NEVER followed a game as closely or as intensely as i have for Creed. But yea, wev got it reall good at the moment.

one button combat system ftl.

I'm saying make games as fun now, as DK was then.

You do remember that Donkey Kong only had 3-4 levels right? How is that not repetitve? I've had a lot of fun playing games on the 360, with the possible exception of Perfect Dark Zero. Killing zombies en masse in Dead Rising, sneaking up and killing someone in Splinter Cell, sniping unsuspecting soldiers in GRAW, chainsawing monsters in Gears of War, shocking or setting someone on fire and shooting them in Bioschock or just playing a few songs in Guitar Hero. X-Box games are a lot of fun.

My Mass Effect order has arrived :woot: & it has the Do Not Sell Before 11 / 20 sticker on it (hehe)

One button combat systems can actually be very well done if they're implemented right. Sort of like the description of the Fable 2 combat system, where the melee combat is based on rhythmic taps of the X button instead of mashing random buttons to get combos.

Both take skill, but one focuses more on the way you tap the button instead of the mashing the buttons as fast as you can to get special #126 to surface.

Jade Empire had a one-button combat system... and while that game's combat sucked, it sure wasn't because of the use of only one button.

Jade Empire was good

For the re-skinned KotOR that it was, it was a decent remake. As a new IP, it failed to do anything new or interesting to justify Bioware taking the time to research ancient china instead of just doing KotOR 2.

Your soul will burn for what you've done here today.

I can't wait to meet the exact same characters from KotOR 1 in Mass Effect. It was great meeting them a second time in Jade Empire. Third time around maybe they'll say more funny things.
