Comics Have Spidey comics passed the point of of no return?

^Yeh...really...lol...

Someone should suggest something REAL shocking....

1. No More Big Events for a couple years

2. How about trying 12 issues and an annual..."what is old is new again!"..

3. No more writer/artist ARCS...refer back to #2....

4. Progression (not in real time of course...but a feeling of one at least)

5. No story's that are SO obviously going to be retconned...that take us no-where and only lead back to where we already were, a year later, in the next big shocking event.

I am not sure...but i am fearful of "One More Retcon".

Like I've said before, all is not lost, but recent events and "storys" are making me feel like Marvel is grabbing our (the fans) hands and meandering with us thru the woods, seemingly lost, and always coming back to where we started.

The comics are basically dead, except for paperback sales. This is why Marvel wants to make more Spider-Man films, even though 3 may be enough for some.:ninja:

Im telling all of you, Joey Q is just trying to get us all riled up for nothing. "one more day" isnt gonna do anything to MJ. If anything, "One more day" is gonna be about aunt may. Listen here's my theory, Joe Q says that One More Day will put a final stance on Peter and MJ's marriage, what i think he means by that is that the story is gonna show just how strong their relationship is through the worst of times. At the end of the story Aunt May will pass away and Peter will realize that MJ is all he has left and their relationship will be stronger than ever. MJ' not gonna die or nothin. I mean c'mon after the Sensational Annual, it would be just plain EVIL to kill off MJ.

So in your theory Aunt May is going to die AGAIN!!! I hope that if true, they fill her grave with concrete and nail her coffin with adamantium nails... Don't want her to pop back from the dead claiming that it was a genetically altered actress who's buried in there... Or even worse Aunt May from Earth whatever, where she knew all along that Peter was Spidey, blegh!

Lol, me and you both Doc_Ock, me and you both. and yes, Tommy was the best power ranger of all time.

Aunt May was trained by whats his name from Kill Bill. So lets make sure she isn't buried in a wooden coffin.

OKay let's bury her in a vibranium (Not the metal breaking one... the near unbreakable one) coffin with adamantium nails... Then we fill the grave with concrete... There is no way that a Pai Mei apprentice escape from that... Just in case, we'll take her head and bury it in another coffin...

The problem is, that we shouldn't need "A Very Special Issue of Spider-Man" reflecting on another sentimental moment that never happened to justify the marriage. It should be interesting in every story. It should be an organic thing that grows and develops.

I'm banking on an MJ death, just in case.

Yep, over 2 years now without buying an issue of Spidey. I only return to this forum to remind myself of what an excellent decision that was.

Heh. Jeez, you just stopped reading some comic books. You didn't cure cancer or anything, haha. :whatever:

I cured myself of being exposed to bad writing and shock-plotting and that's good enough of a decision for me.

Hasn't JQ said over and over and over again that making Peter a widower would age the character more than he already has been (not to mention that it's already been tried)? I know how much you want Spidey to pair up with the Black Cat SIAT, but considering how we had an issue of Sensational a few issues back where Felicia FINALLY realized that she has never defined who she was outside of Spidey and that what ever they had has long since sailed away I don't think that they'll revisit a Spidey/Black Cat relationship (especially not after the much lambasted Evil That Men Do) when they are trying to make her a character in her own right, especially in Heroes For Hire. No, my bet is they'll do worse than kill her...they'll use "One More Day" to retcon the Spidey marriage away using a "time travel" plot device and turn her into that "Jackpot" character Loeb came up with for Free Comic Book Day, (thus having MJ replace Black Cat as the reckless adventurer attacted to Spidey who makes things even more difficult for him) then she'll be metaphorically dead as a character.

I don't want Peter hooking up with The Black Cat. I like the Black Cat character but I don't want to see the two hooking up, especially if MJ does die. I'm just preparing myself for the worst case scenario is all. And Quesada has said a lot of things before and it doesn't necessarily mean that it's going to happen or not. But, like I said, just preparing for the worst to happen.
