Little Richard is STILL raising hell over how Rock & Roll ripped him off.

No the Beastie Boys are their own genre. They rap, but aren't exactly hip hop. They are funny, but don't get into Weird Al territory.

But I'm pretty sure they did it first. Probably the first successful mixing of rap and rock. Others have done it, but I'm sure they were the pioneers, other than Debra Harry from Blondie.
When I was in the 1st grade some little girl called me a "stupid Mexican" even though my parents are from Ecuador, it's a common ignorance that people naturally assume that all hispanics are from Mexico.
Even among Mexicans and Central American countries there's a bit of bigotry because of different customs, language dialect, religions.
When I worked at McDonald's I could tell right away who were Mexican, Salvadorean.
The Punk Rock and Hip Hop scenes of the late 70's early 80's were kind of meshed together. The Beastie Boys weren't pioneers of that style nor was Debra Harry. Harry was the first to have a hit record meshing the two and the Beastie Boys were doing it AFTER Run DMC. Some might cite Cooky Puss but there's stuff that predates that too.
The saddest thing about that is how the Beatles constantly pointed to him as a major influence but music journalists at the time just glossed over it.
Even as a white guy, yes I would, which is why I strive to describe people by their qualities, not their race (which gets me blank looks when I describe someone until I say that they are black)Here's a question; would you be offended if someone used your race as an identifier?
