Routh is a very tall slender young man, he's a twig compared to most atheletic men 6' tall. It isn't bragging to claim to be thicker than Routh, it's not like it's much of an accomplishment.

You see a picture of one shoulder amungst 100 scrawny neck photos, and you go on and on like he's a 250 lb monster.

As far as what Sebas changed, he did his typical "Morph into a Reeve Routh composite" thing. He hardened the jaw, thickened up the face and neck, widened the shoulders and the hip area, and it looks like he shrunk the ass and thighs just a tad.

of course, with a month left to go, we're still arguing Routh's build, which seems a tad obsessive at this point, but whatever

i have no doubts he has got larger arms..but from that picture its quite hard to tell.

no i don't agree with that.. unless you put some muscle on first,the foam rubber muscles don't help..it would look silly.

Fatboy does have a point, it is what it is. I try not to obsess, but every image I see disapoints as much as it pleases some of you.

I agree, I think Routh has put enough stature to his frame to be superman,more than cain did i think,after rewatching the 2nd season dean cain is jusr very toned..kind of like Routh.

Just a note here... can we please stop using Collora's Superman costume as an argument for or against accuracy. Sandy's Superman costume was hastily put together and not tailored to the actor wearing it.

The only good example of translating that costume accurately to film is the Donner costume.

So then Routh looks good despite having a (according to you) small frame?

BTW, the suit isn't made of Neoprene. I wish I could remember exactly what its called but in an article I read, it said that the suit was made of a fabric that was less durable then lycra. That's about the only detail I can remember but it definately didn't say the suit was made of Neoprene.

If he was a good actor, yes. But from what I heard, he really wasn't. And besides, we do not need a Superman who looks like a weightlifter. Superman doesn't need huge muscles.

For consideration

The actor is Lex Barker. He followed Weissmuller. He was a decent enough actor whose performance was sverely handcuffed by the popular treatment of the character(Tarzan) at the time. To me his physique is the perfect Superman proportion.
