With all the red wedding promotion, the cover for season 3 really should have been the King of the North, instead of that generic dragon shadow with 3 swords.
Someone actually sat down and designed that & were paid to do so. And someone else approved it and were also paid to do so. Bit worrying really.
My brother and mother did not know about it. I watched the entire episode with real anxiety leading up. The family was not happy.
That would have made sense. Play up The King in the North aspect, leading to the downfall.
Truth be told, though, they do seem (I could be wrong, but it looks it to me) to put alot of stock in Dany. Even with the rather flat ending using Dany and the liberation of the city in the final scene to try and end things on an upbeat tone. Or something.
It really is. There's a ton of things to draw on, even divide if you want to please all the fans of each family. I guess all we can do now is just hope that they somehow manage to make up for these mistakes with a damn good Series DVD Collection.
Once they collect the series entirely, maybe they'll get their **** together on and deliver there.
Looking back, my brother and I really had to avoid...well, all of the internet, for about a week. I remember hearing "Red Wedding!! Red Wedding!!", but avoiding facebook, twitter, and any forums because my brother and I just weren't able to sit down and watch it till the Sunday after.
And so, we watched it with anxiety too. We didn't watch it not expecting a major event, like perhaps most who watched it when it aired did. I remember watching that episode expecting a huge moment. And that moment, lived up to all the hype and shock that it generated. Truly did. There are times where hype is generated for a moment that doesn't earn it. But, they definitely earned it here. Especially when you can walk in, expecting to be surprised or shocked...and STILL get surprised and shocked says alot about how they built up to it and executed it. I think I was actually hurt by it, too. Starks are my favorites, and man...that was just tough.
My dad hasn't watched it, yet. And his favorite are the Starks, too. I know he's going to be quite pissed about it. Watching his reaction is going to be like a time capsule of what happened a year ago, actually.
The season 3 cover should have been Robb's crown with blood on it.
I will say this though, the new Mountain has the closest book-accuracy in terms of physique and height. I mean, I'm not sure about the guy's acting skills but Gregor gets a lot more character focus this season so I'd hope he can deliver on both fronts.
I would've liked a stylized wolf-headed king sitting the throne. Whichever season covers the Northern chapters from ADWD should feature Stannis's flaming heart and stag.

That finale was the weakest of the 3 for me. I didn't really mind the scene that much, just didn't love it. And if they were going to use Dany in the season finale, releasing the Unsullied was totally worthy of a season finale.Truth be told, though, they do seem (I could be wrong, but it looks it to me) to put alot of stock in Dany. Nothing's going to make up for it for me as I'm going to be forced to spend £30 on that PoS. Don't see any other option as I want to watch all 3 seasons continuously on blu-ray till season 4 comes out. And the 1st 2 are like treasured possessions where every picture even on the inserts is great as well as the cover. I guess if they change it up for when a 4k version comes out that might appease me as that would be the new definitive version. It really is. I'd love to read this thread back during Red Wedding time. Although I suppose nearly everyone here seems to have read the books and might have known what was going to happen. I have to watch it again as I didn't like it 1st time,Looking back, my brother and I really had to avoid...well, all of the internet, for about a week. I remember hearing "Red Wedding!! I wanted something like that too.
Or at the very least, I wanted the camera more on Robb being dragged by the Freys.
That's too spoiler-y and traumatic if you've already seen the finale.
For season 4, I'd go with Joffrey's banner (Baratheon Stag and Lannister Lion) ripped in half with the tagline, "A Lannister Always Pays His Debts."
Jaime Lannister said there were only 3 guys who might have a chance against him in the show (season 2). Does it say in the books who they are?

did Robb ever actually wear a crown in the show? i cant remember a time ive seen anyone but Robert and Joff
Nope, he never wore a crown. Which is unfortunate since his was pretty cool-looking going by the description [blackout]and it plays a small role in AFFC and (I think) ADWD.[/blackout]
"An open circlet of hammered bronze incised with the runes of the First Men, surmounted by nine black iron spikes wrought in the shape of longswords. It is said to look much the same as the one worn by the former Stark Kings in The North."
Makes sense.I forget if it's stated explicitly, but I would assume he's referring to Barristan Selmy (the greatest living knight), the Mountain (the strongest man in Westeros), and the Hound (one of the strongest).
I thought Loras might be one of them as he was said to have beaten Jaime in a tournament in the past but I guess he was also shown losing to Brienne (when she was introduced).I guess they would be Loras Tyrell and Barristan Selmy. I don't have the books near to check though, so i may be wrong here...
