HBO's Game of Thrones - - Part 11

Agreed. And it's not like she's been a leading player in the books. I don't see what more they could do with her in the show.
There's plenty. Sansa is one of the original eight main characters; she is not a prop for Tyrion and the Tyrells, which is what she became in season 3.

They could, for instance, have properly adapted the wedding story, instead of gutting it in order to make Tyrion look squeaky clean (as well as much of the drama), in the process stripping away all her agency. When she refused to kneel, she was defying House Lannister in the only way she could. In the show, she meekly goes along with everything. In the books, she never forgets that the Lannisters are her enemies. The show panders to Tyrion fanboys who think he isn't her enemy just because he's nicer to her personally than her other captors, having them pal around, even after the Red Wedding, when she's supposed to be aloof (which is, as the books repeatedly show, her only way to defend herself). And again here, crying and confiding in Tyrion, instead of refusing to cry in front of a Lannister and maintaining her perfect icy wall as a line of defense.

They could also refrain from turning her story into a long series of jokes at her expense. Last season like a third of her scenes were built around punchlines about how dumb she is. Sansa doesn't know the word "****"! Sansa thinks her family will be coming to her wedding! Sansa completely misses Margaery's adult conversation and thinks her mom told her all this (and doesn't see how awesome being forced to marry Tyrion so that his family can absorb the Stark family lands will be, because he's great in bed)! Sansa is engaged to Gay Loras and doesn't notice that Gay Loras is gay! Notice how none of that was in the book.

The show also pretty much completely strips her storyline of her own perspective. Instead of being told with her as the protagonist, the show at length shows everybody else acting on her, reducing her to an object, rather than the audience's focal point. The wedding story, case in point. We see Varys, Olenna, Margaery, and Littlefinger all talking about Sansa at length, well before we ever see her; by the time she's onscreen, there's nothing the audience is remotely wondering about, and they approach the scenes from the perspective of the people manipulating her, rather than from Sansa's shoes.

Sophie Turner has been amazing.
Sophie Turner is wonderful. The writing for the character in season 3 was abysmal.

I would love for Sophie to have gotten the chance to act so many of the character's best scenes that got the axe, like her wedding reaction.

oh that would be really cool if it's [BLACKOUT]Coldhans[/BLACKOUT]

i wonder if that part of Jon talking about "he was betrayed by his own men, let's make him justice" or something like that, is referring to Mormont or Robb. though i bet is Mormont

I bet it's Mormont. Rumors on Winter is Coming
mentioned a subplot where Rast and co captured Bran at Craster's Keep. Since we have a scene in the first trailer with Rast's man leaving a baby for the White Walkers, it fits. The rumor went on to say that Coldhands would rescue Bran

Is that Brienne at the stake?

Why is everyone intent on believing that is coldhands?
He looks rather a lot like any of the other white walkers we saw at the end of season 2, beginning of season 3 does he not?

I'm disappointed they didn't use Gregor's helm from season 1 in the Red Viper fight scene, this one just looks like an overturned teapot on his head.

I'm also surprised at how different the actor they got for Daario looks, it's jarring that the recast was so loosely done.

He does look a lot like a White Walker (and not much like what I expected [blackout]Coldhands to look like, since he should look like a wight with black eyes, not a White Walker[/blackout]), but the fact that the trailer ended with a focus on him implies that he's a major reveal. We've already seen White Walkers, so there's no reveal there. The horseman in the trailer matches Coldhands enough for it to make sense it's him.

Because it is Coldhands. :o

well... maybe i got it wrong with the skin... but i still think it¡s Coldhans
This was my assumption as well. :) They seem to be speeding up Bran's side of things anyhow, probably because of all the boring walking around he did in the books. I can't see this being anyone else.

I like their song choice for this trailer much better than the first trailer. This one really matches up to the bar Seven Devils and Bones set.

I also see nerds b****ing on youtube that D&D "****ed up Oberyn". I haven't gotten there in the books, how much of a conclusion are they jumping to here?

After thinking a bit, it looks like
Stoneheart will be burning Freys, rather than hanging them.

They always use edgy chick songs. It's GoT staple, along with Jorah providing narration.

No, that's [BLACKOUT]Stannis and Melly burning people on Dragonstone. There are set pics.[/BLACKOUT]

I assumed it was Stannis burning the Florents who tried to sell Shireen to the Lannisters.

Based on what, he looks good so far.

No idea. That's why I'm asking. If y'all here who have gotten that far are pleased with what you see, I'm just going to assume it was fanboy ranting about nothing at all.

There was a lot of *****ing about the Martells not looking Persian enough or something. Which is idiotic because they're supposed to be Mediterranean.

The trailer was nicely cut; my only complaint was the song, which I did not care for in the slightest. I would have preferred they used a track from/like one from Two Steps From Hell

robb starks wife looked like a persian horse

Ahhh, I see now.... Hunger Games syndrome.

Idiots online *****ed and made disgusting remarks about a black girl being cast as Rue.... when the character was clearly described as having dark skin in the book.

No, it's pretty clear from their descriptions and GRRM's own behaviour until the show actually cast them that the Martells are supposed to be Arab-esque. Once the show cast a white guy GRRM backtracked on that (hardly unusual for authors to do, Ursula K. LeGuin aside).

Thanks for the reply. And it would make sense if Jon attacks Rast. It would be a nice change from the books.

Regarding Brienne, no. I believe the girl in the stake is some woman Stannis is burning.
