I agree. I'm not one to ***** too much about recasting especially when the original actor dropped out to be in the new transporter movie. Let me  the original actor. And I think the new guy fits better, but he looks very different. It was off putting, but I'll get used to it.

The Thenn talking to Tormund is Magnar.

Magnar is a title, Styr is a name. In ADWD there's a new Magnar of Thenn.

1st episode of the new season and we're already off to a good start...
3 naked women.
Several revenge killings

Loved:
Arya becoming more awesome.
The introduction for Oberyn and Ellaria.
Margery voicing her distaste of Joffrey.
Olenna's admiration of Brianne.

The Hound was the best part IMO.

The dragons being snippy with Dany...trouble coming?

I liked that bit. The dragons do become a major handful in ADWD so it's good that they are already laying that groundwork. By next season they should be pretty much beyond Dany's control.

Great opening episode...I loved the scene with Arya and The Hound kicking ass.

After all that Arya has been through, it's nice to see she finally had a good day.

Great Premiere anyone have the preview for next week? My DVR cut that off.

Though I do have one complaint. If you're going to replace someone, you should at least replace them with someone who at least looks the original. Yes, that means you, Dhaario. :(

This confused me during every scene he was in. I finally caught up last week so I didn't think it was a character that had been introduced yet as my memory of last season was still fresh but the way he talked to Daenerys lead me to believe there was some history. At the very least they could have given him the same hairstyle. Now the scenes he was in make a lot more sense.

As for the episode, easily the best since season 1, arguably the best so far. The episode felt different, but in a good way. Felt more deliberate, more well thought out.

- That is the big deal about Oberyn. :)

- Jon Snow is back, and better then ever. Thank the Old Gods and the New. :D

- The Wildlings are going to be interesting to follow.

- The Arya and Hound road show of horror got started with a bang. This is also the first time Maisie didn't look like a little girl. Hurry the hell up GRRM.

- Does anyone have more to worry about then Tyrion?

- Jaime standing up to Tywin was pitch perfect. The one kid Tywin can't "abandon".

- I loved the new Daario. Way less annoying and smug. Overall I found this to be the best Dany material in a long while.

- Loved the prologue. If you wanted people angry with Tywin again, it worked wonders.

Decent episode. Though the absence of a scene with Tyrion and Jaime was kind of odd.

Yeah especially since Jaime made that crack about how all the Lannister's he's talked to since he's come back has treated him like crap. Tyrion and him have lots to bond over now.

The episode ran long. What exactly do you cut to put that scene in?

Anticipating that scene, I had to straight up let my mom know about Daario getting recast to give her the heads up.

It all felt better somehow.:) Especially Jon. He acted like a confident man for a change.

I noticed Arya not looking like a little girl anymore. Her face is changing and well I don't think I have to state the obvious but her chest is feeling out. She turns 16 on April 15 so it's going to be hard to hide her age after this season. By the end of the show she will be 21! I don't have a clue how they are going to make this work.

They said Daario's name more then once. Pay better attention. :o

"Decent episode"

Ser Illyn Payne... Bring me his head.

Feeling out. Freudian slip Marvolo? :funny:

Maisie actually turns 17 on April 15. She was born in 1997. Sophie has year on her, though it looks like much more. Still, I don't think it will be much of a problem. She'll be a convincing Hollywood teenager I expect, especially considering she is pretty much done growing in terms of height. She is a small girl, that helps. The one I worry about is Bran. There is no hiding it with him anymore.

And yeah, it just felt... better. Though I don't feel like they captured Jon's journey to manhood very well, it definitely felt like he arrived tonight and it was great. My favorite storyline in the book so I am hoping we return to first season form. If the first episode was any indication, we are good. :)
