I was really hoping Joffrey would be an even more enormous a**hole with the name. When someone said Wolfsbane, I would have liked to hear him say, "Wolfsbane...no, I won't name it after Robb Stark. I'll name it after his mother, Widow's Wail. (walks over to Sansa) Would you like that, Sansa? A Valyrian Steel sword named after your mother?"

I didn't believe it when they said it, but so far it is proving true. The good guys are getting some victories.

Two episodes in, and so far two dudes that had it coming...got what they had coming.

I would hardly say it marks the 'good guys' winning, but the inescapable arm of violence in Westeros.

The only part about the episode that I straight-up didn't like was the Shae and Tyrion stuff. Mostly because Dinklage and the girl playing Shae are so far apart acting-skill wise

Do you guys think the TV show will ever tell who sent the assassin with the valyrian dagger to kill off Bran Stark on season 1?

Book spoilers:
It was Joffrey.

YES, King Justin Bieber finally got what was coming to him. Too bad that Tyrion has to take the fall for it though. Also, it's been awhile since I've read the book, but doesn't
Littlefinger
ultimately turn out to be mastermind behind this?

Didn't they confirm who sent the assassin in season one? It was a scene that wasn't in the books, but I believe they confirmed who it was in season one.

And I use the term "winning" rather loosely. Just good to see the karmic pendulum swings both ways on the show.

And I liked the Shae scenes. It worked for what it is. I mean, she's in love with Tyrion and somehow believes that love can help them triumph everything. Including Cersei and Tywin. And, that **** a'int true. Kinda seemed almost like season one Sansa, in Shae instead, allowing herself to believe in the legends and tales of how romance and love can triumph and overcome villainy and corruption.

Just watched. All I have to say is...

Not really, we lost Sean Bean, Sean Bean's wife, Sean Bean's son, Sean Bean's best friend, Sean Bean's daughter-in-law, and Sean Bean's unborn grandchild. On the other side, we lost Joffrey (which is no great lost). I'd say that the good/honorable side has still gotten the worst of it by far.

Really? I could have sworn there was a bedroom scene in King's Landing between [BLACKOUT]Cersei and Jamie [/BLACKOUT]that confirmed it was [BLACKOUT]Jamie [/BLACKOUT]who'd ordered the hit.

Yes that is true...Jaime did confirm that in the first season

Whaaaat? It was Jamie in the tv show?

I'm not sure that's accurate...

I'm going to miss that a-hole. I liked him.

It almost pleases me more the idea of Cersei losing her son than just Joffrey dying in general. I feel like she's earned this.

Jamie did not set up the hit on the show or in the book. The bed room scene actually confirmed this. Neither Jamie nor Cersei were responsible. I vaguely remember them hinting at it being [BLACKOUT]Joffrey[/BLACKOUT], but I can't pinpoint the scene in my memory.

The scene is where Jaime did say he put the hit on Bran.....

It was
Jamie. He had a guard steal Tyrion's blade, and try to kill Bran in his sleep.

He's referring to pushing Bran out the window. Jaime would NEVER have something done that implicates Tyrion or have another man do his own killing. He even says in that scene he'll kill Bran himself. Why would he say that if he hired an assassin?
