They are not talking about that, they are talking about the ledge pushing and he says that they can outfox a 10 year old, Ned doesnt know about the attempt on Brans life at this point.

Another thing which I just remembered is that Catelyn was the only witness. She only told Robb, Theon, Rodrik, and Maester Luwin. Even if Jaime hired the assassin (which he didn't), he wouldn't know whether the assassin failed or not nor would Cersei know that a hit was ordered.

what is a spoiler...its season 1 and i linked a google question. :whatever:

The Google result shows a book spoiler in the top result AND links to other spoilers.

Fantastic episode last night, might be one of the best in a while. So glad that little ****er is finally dead. Unfortunately my friend spoiled me on who did it ([BLACKOUT]Littlefinger?[/BLACKOUT]) but then he said that it's not JUST him, so at least I haven't been totally spoiled :awesome:

Good. I was doubting myself.

Are you sure they weren't talking about when he pushed him off the ledge?

Now that I look at it, I guess so.

Although, I remember that scene showing up after the whole thing with the dagger. So, it might have been a clever slight of hand to get us to think it was Jamie who did it. I assumed it was, again, because he pushed the kid out the window and the scene was after the assassination attempt on Bran. I assumed, when Jamie said he'd go and do it himself, it was to calm Cersei from the second failed attempt on Bran's life. I suppose that scene just plays on the viewer's assumption.

I'm still surprised he's meant to be only 13 which puts a different spin on it slightly. I thought he'd be 15-16 by now which given the actor is in his 20's makes more sense.

Normally I'd be against cheering on a child's death but I don't think I've seen Joffery as a child in any sense of the word since season 1. He's been an outright bastard for pretty much every scene he's been in.

The actor I like, the character I hate. He did it so convincingly that you just can't help feel relieved or happy for his death unlike say [BLACKOUT]Lizzy[/BLACKOUT] on the Walking Dead which was just all around tragic who wasn't as old, nor started off as a despot in the making. It just kind of came to that point where you live in a world of zombies (In a sense there are zombies in GOT too but they aren't everywhere).

Joffery seems to have been spoiled, raised and groomed towards being the literal king of all *******s. Who would want this kid running a lemonade stand let alone an entire country?

I never understood why Tywin was so melancholy with Joffrey during the wedding especially with his actions. Maybe he thought kids will be kids

The scene is where Jaime did say he put the hit on Bran.....

I rewatched season 1...This is after the attempt of killing Bran with the knife.
It was
Jamie. He had a guard steal Tyrion's blade, and try to kill Bran in his sleep.
The scene is suppose to be ambiguous, but if you listen to their words it is clear they are talking about Jaime pushing Bran out the window. It is the only incident Cersei could possibly know about unless she herself had hired the assassin. That is why Cat travels herself to King's Landing. To keep the information known to as few people as possible.

The entire idea of the sequence in the episode, jumping from Bran, Littlefinger, Cat/Ned, Jamie/Cersei, etc, is to keep you guessing.

I think GRRM is still in the mindset of the books he writes. Novel Joffrey might have been 13, but TV Joffrey has to be 15-17, at least. Even Tommen last night barely looks 13 himself.

Joffrey was 17 years old at the time of the Battle of the Blackwater on the show. Tyrion brings up his age while talking to Cersei in Season 2, Episode 8, "The Prince of Winterfell". Tyrion compares Jaime at 17 to Joffrey at 17.

The wedding was kind of like a Joffrey greatest hits, pissing off everyone in his sight bar the insufferable Tywin and Cersei. A nice way of reminding us (yeah yeah as if we needed that) how much of a cretinous little toerag he is, thus leaving us in no doubt that he deserved every moment of that gruesome end.

Yeah, the wedding was basically Joffrey at his most vile, reminding everyone, including the audience, of all the absolutely horrible things he has done.

I don't know, I thought Tywin seemed rather displeased with Joffrey's shenanigans. He didn't do anything about it, mind you, but still...

Then again, he's always at least mildly displeased by everything, so. :o

I don't remember that being said. The last I remember his age was much younger, but that's the problem with the book versus television adaptation: In the books you can keep a character an age for much longer. I haven't started the books yet either so I don't know what the progression is in that. His being 17 years old, he looks like it and he definitely acts like it (or how an unhinged, psychopathic 17 year old would act).

I dunno...there were moments where Tywin looked almost pleased. I mean, the dude barely smiles and all that, but he looked mildly entertained during the reenactment of the War of the Five Kings. I think there may have been a slight smile from him.

Or maybe he was just squinting. Tywin's a hard man to read.

I don't think anybody was smiling during that feast except Joffery.

Slightly curious, do you think I am making it up? :woot:

I checked before I posted it. Tyrion compares Joffrey at 17 to Jaime at 17. And the characters aren't really aging that rapidly on the show. Joffrey's nameday begins season 2, so he hasn't been 17 all that long.

In the first episode of the series, Cersei ask Sansa her age. She replies she is 13. On her wedding night in Season 3, Episode 8, "Second Sons", Tyrion ask her her age. She tells him she is 14. So basically it has been around two, two and half years from the start of the series to now. That is pretty much in line with the books.

Tywin has never liked such things. If he was smiling, and I don't remember him doing so, it was for the benefit of the wedding party.
