HBO's Game of Thrones - - - - - Part 14

Her performance in the "Dracarys" scene was the best that the show has seen so far from her. But I still wouldn't rank it above Nikolaj's scene in the bath with Brienne or Michelle Fairley's performance during the Red Wedding.
She was great in that scene! One of the best scenes of the show for me so far.

Overall though I think there are a lot of guys in GoT whose performances are consistently on a higher level.

Do you have any actual quotes where they say this? People talk about it all the time but nobody ever gives any evidence.

Google will help you.

But Marv is right, they've been saying it for the past 2 years. I mean it's already happening. Season 3 has parts of book 5 in it, this season has book 3, 4 and 5 in it. It's no longer going by book. If you've read the books you would know that book 4 and 5 take place at the same time, just focuses on different characters. Book 4 had no Dany, Tyrion, Jon, or Bran. But book 5 focuses on them. There is no way they will do a season with out three of the most popular characters. And it actually angered many who read book 4. From now on they have said they are focusing on the story as a whole. And, you don't need evidence, just read the books, and watch these past 2 seasons.

Speaking of book-to-season ratio, I once said, probably on these very boards, that they could have pulled off A Storm of Swords in one season if they extended the season to 13 episodes instead of 10. And to that I say...

They wouldn't have done it justice like they have with two whole seasons.

question for the book readers regarding Brienne and a certain stone-hearted girl (i put it here because it is related to the show entirely) - seriously, don't read this if you haven't read A Storm of Swords :

What do you guys think if Brienne's scene with Lady Stoneheart from AFFC is used here to introduce her? i know it sounds a bit crazy but bear with me on this one:

Oathkeeper is the 4th episode this season, and we already know (i mean, we can assume with 90% certainty) that in this chapter Jaime will give Oathkeeper to Brienne. Therefore, meaning that Brienne's storyline from AFFC will start earlier than expected (we also have some Brienne/Pod images to prove this).

Based on the fact that Brienne's story arc in AFFC is rather tedious and pretty much nothing happens, would'nt it be logical to have Lady Stoneheart introduction in the finale with Brienne? Instead of the infamous Merret Frey epilogue from ASOS. (which i LOVE by the way)

Hell, they could even merge the scenes, like Brienne witnessing Merret's hanging.

what do you guys think?

Never Forget.

@Ezio: I hope so. Because in that scene (AFFC spoilers)
it was seeing what the Brotherhood had become that bothered me the most.

I could see it going that way. It kills a few birds with one stone.

I could see her running into some the Locke's men as well. Hunting Starks and all.

I swear, it's almost like they go out of their way to make it easy for people to connect it to Arrested Development.

Did they eat that pie or did they eat off of another one? Cause birds are filthy and dead birds are extra filthy. If Joffrey wasnt poisoned he'd have probably died from some avian flu. Joffrey ****ting himself to death may have been a more satisfying death. Damnit, George missed an opportunity.

Question for book readers, not really spoiler-ish, but just in case...

Do you think the show is going to get into book 6 territory this season or the next season? I know some book readers are concerned about that since apparently the show is already catching up really fast and going into stuff from books four and five already.

Next season. However, I wouldnt expect book 6 stuff until the end of next season. And we really dont know whether the stuff in the show at that point will match the books and to what degree. I figure the end of the show will be very similar to the book's ending, but D&D may take a different path to get to that ending so as to preserve the surprises in the books and to stike out on their own path.

I've been saying that for months.

Using Stoneheart on a random Frey won't have the same impact as it would for Brienne to see her for the first time.

I agree. Maybe they can :

make Brienne witnessing the hanging of that Frey who killed Talisa and unborn-Ned. So the audience will symphatize.

Brienne vs Cersei

Cersei would have a better chance with the bear at Harrenhal.

I'm surprised I'm not hearing more people suspect Shae.
