or every night. :o

That ending!! :wow:

As a book reader its always nice to be totally taken by surprise by something every once and a while with this show.

Isn't Margery supposed to be like 16?

Probably. Still doesn't change the fact that she is seducing someone under ten. It's all kinds of creepy (although not that creepy by this show's standards).

This show just keeps being fantastic this season. It is legitimately the best show on television right now, and it isn't really close. And wow, so much new lore and material. And it all made sense, outside of perhaps Bran and Ghost being caught, but I can dig it because next week looks like it will have awesome payoff.

The ending was wow, and next week, Jon Snow, badass.

There is a reason they aged him up so much. There is a reason they recast him. :funny:

Game of Thrones introduced the Night's King in season 4, before GRRM. Shame on him, but awesome on the show.

Also it is looking like no Coldhands, at least for now. Sorry guys.

So based on the Fire & Ice wiki the Others (aka Whitewalkers) are seemingly not mentioned after the third book?

What the heck is their overall purpose? Are they reanimated kings turning babies into other Whitewalkers?

It also seems as if they are seemingly going out of the book canon with some stuff right now, right? Specifically with some of the Knights Watch/Bran arc stuff? Again, I'm basing this off what I've read ahead in the wiki.

If anyone can clear some of this up I'd be more than happy to know.

By the gods, that ending had me on the end of my sit and full of all sorts of spine tingles.

Sounds like they have surprised a lot of book readers.

Did I mention they kept Tommen's cat? So awesome. :awesome:

No one knows there purpose. We have seen far more of them on the show then we ever did the books. I would say there purpose would be to bring the ever lasting winter, to cover Westeros in it, and banish the nasty humans.

And yes the stuff at Craster's Keep, from Jon going there to Bran being there, is completely new. I am still a little pissed that they somehow captured Ghost. There is no way those fools could capture Ghost.

The show rushed through Jon's storyline the last two seasons, so it seems they have decided to compact his growing into a man/leader into this new material and to keep the encounter with the Wildlings for the end of the season. I like it. Bran at this point in the game has very little material from any of the books left. They are trying to keep him away from his final chapters in ADWD, as that is the start of the end game material.

Even as someone who has never read the book but has read ahead in the wiki this episode threw me in a loop in terms of the canon and seemingly T.V only content that was added/changed for this episode.

Hmm interesting. So it looks like the Fire & Ice wiki wasn't missing anything but it looks like the show has just added more/changed certain aspects of the book.

Well at least Martin is somewhat steering them in what I would assume the same direction he will eventually get to in the books (maybe?). This is reminiscent of what happens when there's an anime going on while a writer is still working on the manga. Typically it turns out for the worst but in this case we have Martin directly working with HBO so I hope it doesn't stray off too badly as the show catches up.

To keep it simple, everything in King's Landing, with Sansa, and Dany right now is very much canon.

Jon, Arya, and Bran isn't. Though it all fits, beautifully imo.

Yeah I knew that because everything in the bold matches with what the Fire and Ice wiki has.

That's why I asked about the whole Bran/Jon t.v arc deviation that had me somewhat puzzled after this episode because it wasn't really following anything described on there.

That was awesome, only took them 4.25 seasons to pay off just a little bit of all of this WW talk.

I highly doubt George didn't know about the ending. Yeah, at the end of the day, this is HBO's show and they have the right to do whatever they want, but D&D wouldn't **** him over like that. They admire and respect him a ton - this show wouldn't exist if they didn't -, he's the "consultant" (I imagine introducing the Night King before the books have was something that was consulted on), he writes a script for every season and they don't want to get on bad terms with him. Why risk angering a friend and the reason the show exists just for shock and awe? He may not LIKE what they did last night but it's really unlikely that he was unaware of it altogether.

So the Bran stuff isn't canon either? Eh, I liked it. I've been unintentionally spoiled a lot on this season and future books so it's nice to see something that I wasn't expecting.

I honestly can't believe how much awesome I have already forgot to mention from this episode.

- The Lannister Bros. back together.
- Brienne, Jaime, Pod and Bronn.
- Every moment the Queen of Thorns speaks it is something to beyond.
- Margaery working her magic. Dormer working her Tudors magic. :hubba
- Ser Barristan telling Dany the truth and Dany not listening.

It makes very good sense in context. Bran is becoming a bit convoluted, his journey is more straightforward, but that is it really.

Can you imagine being a 15/16 year old kid, Natalie Dormer comes into your room in the middle of the night and says, "I'll be yours forever"? :awesome: :hrt:

I actually really enjoy the Bran material. I'm hoping at some point he gets the ability to walk again. Maybe he'll get some white walker abilities while retaining his sentience. /fanfic

I also don't get a complete "evil" vibe from the White Walkers. I feel there's more to them than what's being lead on. I'm I the only one that feels that way?

While Bran has gone a bit walkabout if you look up the material you can see that last season, the close miss between Bran and Jon is very close to the end of the book for both characters. Jon's major events left...

are defending the Wall and the vote for the new Lord Commander.

Everything between now and probably episode 9 will be non-canon for Jon. Bran's is all muddled.

Yup. I've read ahead in the wiki for all the characters (I can't help myself :( ). Thanks for clarifying though as I wasn't sure if that wiki was omitting something (which would have surprised me seeing as that particular wiki is damn thorough).

I know Bran was supposed to keep trying to find the three eyed crow only to find out it's someone I'd rather not mention as I don't want to put too many book spoilers on here but I'm sure they're going to try connecting it with whatever they have for the T.V only stuff right now
.

I imagine this every night and have since watching Casanova. :o

I like it as well. Keeps Bran involved, though I am not sure I could take another close call between him and Jon again. The only thing worse would be Arya almost seeing her Jon again. :csad:

Can't see the walking with Bran. Not with what happens with him in ADWD. He is going to become one with the Forest/Old Gods imo.

II also don't get a complete "evil" vibe from the White Walkers. I feel there's more to them than what's being lead on. I'm I the only one that feels that way?
I honestly don't know either. They almost seem like a punishment, a test for Man.

Oh my God. :hubba :atp:

My main thought after tonight's episode wasn't even about the storylines... Marvel, ****ing hire Michelle MacLaren!
