HBO's Game of Thrones - - Part 16

I imagine a lot of their budget was sunk into the upcoming episode.

I just wonder if ''The Watchers of the Wall'' will live up to the hype.

The previous episode 9's were all amazing. ''Bealor'' was the THE episode that made everyone realize that GOT is something special. Then ''Blackwater'' was one of the most epic and well directed episodes in Television. And last year, ''The Rains of Castamere'' had the most devastating and brilliant scene in TV history. A lot of hype for Episode 9.4.

It will be interesting to see, since the scenes with the wall, Sam and John Snow are my least interesting. An entire episode there will be a challenge.

PS: As a book reader, episode 10 ''The Children'' might be one hell of a submission of Dinklage, as his character has some killer chapters there. And remember that Alex Graves said that the finale for the first time will not be ''just that episode after 9'' and will be epic and emotional. Cant wait!

I for one, am glad we're getting an episode without Lannisters or Targaryens.

With episode 9 being nothing but Wall(y) World, I'm curious as to how they are possibly going to fit the remaining plot points into episode 10. I haven't read the books, but I've been spoiled enough to know that a lot still goes down from the third book.

I think episode 10 has Brienne, Bran, Arya & the Hound, Tyrion & Jaime Lannister, maybe a bit of the Wall at the start to show an epilogue to the battle.

Also slightly about Daenerys and her dragons. I think episode 8 was a good conclusion for Ramsay and Sansa.

Yeah I don't think we'll see anymore Sansa or Theon. Also:

when Sansa told LF she knows what he wants I was like

poor her haters, how will they justify their hate for her now that she is no longer a ''weak pawn''?

Loved this scene. Every time she gets within arms length of a family member/safety , they die.:csad: Wonder if they'll continue on without knowing Sansa is in there?

The death scene was brutal. Indira Varma delivered one of the most horrific and believable screams i have ever heard on tv.:wow:

It's been my most anticipated episode, but this season overall has been pure awesomesauce, i think episode 5/6 is the only one "universally" mehed at, but that's because you need an episode with more build up and calm moments. :b

episode 9 is directed by Neil Marshall who also handled the Blackwater episode, he has had more time to prepare for the action and a bigger budget than Blackwater.

I hope Neil Marshall gets to direct in Season 6 as well, because i honestly believe we might see these two batltes already in S6:
Battle for Mereen

Battle for Winterfell

The poster is likely taking a lot of artistic license with what we can expect for the actual on-screen battle. That looks like a LOTR level battle and the closest we've seen on the show in the Battle of Blackwater, didn't reach that scale.

So that's what the purpose of the story was :funny:

I don't necesarilly agree with the analogy of grrm and orson. I don't think GRRM is a nihillist who takes pleasure in the sake of destruction for destructions sake as some have argued.

I don't think the deaths we've seen were random or without purpose or just for the sake of showing death. Pretty much everyone who's died, died for a reason tied into their past actions.

Did anyone else grin a bit when Pycelle's dumb speech was interrupted?

Sometimes it's the little things to enjoy.

LMAO!!! That was freaking hilarious!!!

I was eager to see this episode for the duel and oulalala it delivered beyond my expectation. All the stuff before the duel were also great, I was glad to see Sansa changes ( Pyter too hehe ).
The duel itself was the highlight of the episode, it gave me chill in the spine ( and that is not an usual thing ), I knew nothing about the ending, I figured that Tyrion would not be sentenced to death and Oberyon would win somehow, when Oberyon started to fly around the Hound I was excited like a little kid and cheered for him, oh boy, come the ending....man that was a great death ( great for me as the audience of course ).

Well, yes and no. Because he's the author, GRRM can write a legitimate death for whomever he wants.

That said, the dude has openly and repeatedly admitted that he killed Robb and Catelyn because so many people expected them to avenge Ned. As soon as he saw that he started crafting their gory demise just to stun people.
