I honestly didn't know he was 24 until coming to this thread and reading that he's 24. And then even after that I still don't think he looks it. Maybe, MAYBE when he smiles, like in that pic with Lena Headey.

But guess what? Dat Mountain don't smile.

Question for the book readers : is Obeyrn an accomplished swordsman ? I'm asking because, well, the Mountain is rather impressive and a human grinder.

If he's not an accomplished swordsman he better have a shotgun.

Yeah, that was my thinking too. We know the guy is skilled with his male attribute but with we have no clue about his fighting skill.

I haven't read that far in the books but he's just got to be. Did you see the trailers of this season? They showed him doing some very cool looking moves in sneak peeks of that fight.

We must remember Mountains do not grow on trees.
Most 6'8" plus guys are skinny basketball player types.

A big young mountain is better than a skinny mature one.
He will probably be in armor anyway

Cool. I think it's going to be an amazing fight. He'll have to have great skills, speed and agility just to fend off The Mountain as he'll be dead if he takes one hit. I was actually hoping for The Mountain Vs The Hound at some point. Thought they might have been building towards that from the 1st season when they revealed the cause of The Hound's injuries at the tournament and they confronted each other after The Mountain chopped that horse's head off.

Key requirements are to look big and intimidating (while still being able to move reasonably quickly in combat) . This guy can pull those off I'm sure.

Swords are not his weapon of choice but he can handle himself. Hold on to your butts for this trial.

Yeah, Oberyn is one of the most deadliest men in Westeros.

Deadliest as a fighter or as an adversary ? ( Little Finger is deadly as was Jamie but not in the same areas ).
@Buford : ok, holding my bottom :)

Both. He's a devious planner, but also a legendary warrior who has traveled the world and fought in dozens of battles.

We don't even see all of them in the books, half of them are still children only mentioned by Ellaria offhandedly. We'll probably see one or two of the older ones in the show, though.

Oberyn and Tyrion was glorious
"I'll be your champion" Love that scene

At this point I don't care what happens to Sansa I love little finger

Hot Pie was a nice surprise

Book readers, question about episode 9 for y'all:

Do you think we'll see [BLACKOUT]mammoths at the battle of the Wall? I'm expecting to see at least a giant or two, but a mammoth would be a nice surprise.[/BLACKOUT]

Richard Madden is going to be at the Tampa Comic Con and if I'm here I want to go, he wants $50 to take a pic with him though. I'll probably bite the bullet since he is such a cool guy. If I make it I want to tell him "The Lannisters send their regards" since I'm sure it will be the first time any fan has said that to him :o

^^
"The Lannisters send their regards"
=> and you stab him multiple times like in the show !

Who knows. The Wall stuff
has deviated from the books a lot so they might be in there in establishing shots or something. I just hope they somehow get Tormmund back on the North side of the wall again. Giants are a given. They were in the trailers.

$50's steep.

But,you do have a lot of awesome guests there: Wrightson, Grell, Wolfman, as well as Chloe Bennett and Caity Lotz. Daaarn.

Anyway, I have been reading the excerpts from the upcoming History Of... Volume, and cannot wait until it is released.

After seeing The Machine, I would pay $50 for a pic with Caity Lotz.

I see. Are we likely to get any scenes in Dorne? Might be a spoiler I guess.
