Yep! Especially once that "World of Ice and Fire" book comes out. That thing is going to be filled with history, lore, and facts about the world. The potential discussions are endless.

Is there a release date for that? Halfway through ADWD and ever since ACOK I've been wanting to delve more and more into the history of the that world. I just don't want to spoil anything in the meantime.

I think it's actually a great idea for GOT to have it's own forum. That way people can discuss the episodes themselves and the books seperately without crossing over and constantly having to see blackout text and spoiler boxes or worse, people lazily posting spoilers for all to see, in one thread.

Once the book series is finished, I'd like to hear George talk about how the series slowly grew from a trilogy to 7/8 books.

I am all for an actual GoT section here.

Hunter, please make it happen! Now's the perfect time and the perfect place.

I don't think it's necessary. It'd be very inactive for most of the year since the show only lasts for 11.

In the meantime we could just discuss the books, and stuff like casting, potential story deviations etc for future seasons. The ASOIAF forums are packed with threads and posts every day and they get along just fine

I can already hear the angry rants from George R.R Martin

For the readers tho itd be nice to have a thread for the show where we can post spoilers and bring the books into the discussion. There is stuff on the show that readers pick up on and can speculate about and discuss, but we cant do it here so it stifles potential discussions. There's no reason for the readers to have to separate the discussion. Thats why we need a non-readers thread and a readers thread. Thats how we do it on this other site I frequent and it works out great.

That guy has played two of the most unliked characters in fiction, law of balance says he has to be incredibly chill.

Pic isn't working, what are we talking about?

It was a pic of The Mountain vs The Viper (Oberyn), and DRZ said GRRM would be raising hell because of something in the pic, but he didn't say what that thing was. I didn't notice anything in the picture that would make GRRM mad. Oberyn is using his lance and the Mountain is in his armor using his huge sword. Neither are wearing helms tho so maybe that's what DRZ was referring too, but that's not something that would make GRRM mad.

Oh DRZ was complaining nevermind, I thought it was something that mattered. :o

GRRM did get a bit anal about the lack of helmets during the Blackwater Commentary, but Uh, that's something one has to deal with in this sort of visual medium. The viewers like to see the faces of the characters.

But then again, he also kinda freaked out that Thor didn't have his helmet in the movies, so maybe it's just a weird fetish of his.

Would that be "no helm" or that the new Mountain is a manlet?

No helm. ;)

Awww, have i made you cry? Is Hush so ******** about something he wants to cry instead of talking to me? I wasn't complaining, i was making an inside joke that you missed. You can cry about that too.

Nope not crying, just was making fun of you.

"Just stick it in there Tommen"

Oberyn didn't wear one in the book. They want viewers to see The Mountain's face, so they leave it off. That's why Tyrion didn't wear a helm during The Blackwater.

Judging by the brief shots we've seen in trailers so far, the Mountain seems to have his helm on in the initial stages of the duel.
