the movie will be dedicated to Heath and the camera man who died during filming of TDK. Im a 100 percent sure their names will be mentioned as soon as the credits role. R.I.P Heath/ My prayers are with you

It's still a lot of months till the release, so no, i don't think it'll get postponed.

first off may he rest in peace.

i hope he didn't od on purpose.

i for one believe there either will be no more nolan batman films. or they will postpone the release and either re-do the ending or shoot his scenes over again with a new joeker cast. you gotta remember people this is a huge $$$ for warner bros. there gonna do whatever it takes to rake in the doe.

Sad News.....I fell for his family, especially shi daugther.

I read he was seen walking around the city at noon, and found dead at 3...thats a short period of time. No doubt drug related

The news of his death was the first thing I saw when my internet came up. My jaw hit the ground.

Horrible...horrible..

And to all of those recasting the Joker already, shame on you :cmad;

You don't even deserve to see The Dark Knight. Show some ****ing respect to an incredible actor.

He seemed like a great modest guy.

God speed Mr.Ledger...

I don't see how him dying will affect the Batman series. OK there might be a bit of a cloud over it, but i don't think it would affect the series as a whole. Look at Richard Burton in Harry Potter.

Really bad news, I got a text from a friend telling me the Joker had died and though someone had killed him off in the comics. Really bad news.

Heath apparently died in a self destructive way, in some coked up starlets apartment.

That's not necessarily true. People have OD'd on accident before, especially if they were trying to get sleep that they weren't able to get(according to reports Heath was only getting 2 hours of sleep a night). It's too early to assume anything, accident or suicide, until toxicology reports and further investigation come in.

TMZ.com are posting images of the body being removed.

I don't like it. :(

Now that the report is own that he was surrounded by over the counter sleeping pills, CNN has begun blaming his role of the Joker as having a part in this. He was so consumed by this role that he wasn't sleeping more than a couple hours a night and that recent interviews showed he was having issues.

With his role as the Joker possibly playing a part in Ledger's death, what will this mean for Dark Knight...if anything?

R.I.P Mr. J.

It's obviously going to dramatically effect the marketing. The actors still involved will be unable to talk about anything other than Ledger. It will be impossible for subsequent trailers and TV spots either to ignore him or to focus on the evil of his role.

It has the potential either to completely derail the movie, or to make it one of the most memorable classics of all time.

As for the future of the franchise, well, I suppose it reduces the chances of The Joker being seen again. It may even effect the way that TDK is cut, perhaps to avoid a death scene or anything too harrowing involving Heath. I can't see how another actor can step into his shoes, now. I would imagine that it reduces the chances of the existing cast and crew making a return, as well.

I wouldn't expect the film content to be affected. I can't speak for anyone else, but I personally wouldn't think it appropriate to edit some of his final work, especially given his enthusiasm and hard work for the role. I can say that if I died with a work in progress, I certainly wouldn't want it chopped up for the sake of sensitivity.

I'm actually unbelievably upset about this.

So weird how someone I've never met (nor will ever meet now), can effect me so much.

They just wheeled his body out...

I'm devastated...

RIP Heath.

Tears in my eye...:csad:

we mourn for a dead man. We didn't know him that well but still we care and think of him as a family member. let is all go to our house and pray that he will go to heaven and find peace. let also pray for his family. rest in peace Heath

I can't believe this. I'm at lost for words right now, shocked.

Damn. Whoa man.
