Rookie QB's like this are a rare find and this guy is making plays that win games not just pad the leads. Hester did a good job but the game was already won. Vote for my man Vince Young for your fellow SHH member!

im sticking with reggie although i will admit, jones exceeded my expectations

Not to be a Young hater, but did Young break any NFL records against the Texans? Pretty sure Hester broke one.

Nice thread title

Put this in the 2006 NFL Thread.

Care to look at the stats?

166 yards rushing / 2 TDs (thread is for rookie of the week)

I agree he is a better choice then Young.

Relax, don't get your undies in a twist. The Homer (I'm not talking about a Simpson) comment was a joke.

But honestly, if he wasn't from UCLA do you think you'd have mentioned him?

I refuse to vote for Young simply because of the thread title.

Also Hester deserves the award - he is the NFL Rookie MVP of the week and season.

Hester's first TD run put the Bears in the lead. Hester's second TD pretty much took all the momentum that St. Louis might've had after that TD.

Also, twice this season (against Arizona and the Giants) Hester's TD runs have had a major impact on the result of the game.

It's not really fair to take him out of contention because of the position he plays. He has broken the single season TD return record and he's got three more games to improve on that record.

Colston deserves to win rookie of the year. Bush needs to do more to win it.

Exactly. The kid was a 7th round draft pick. Give it to him :word:

As for the rookie of the week ... I voted Jones. 303 all-purpose yards ... nuff said :word:

Jones is a good back to have. He pretty much mowed down the Colts defense.

Colston should win it,i mean for a while he was leading the league in tds and yards, and how to think this guy was 8 picks from been undrafted.

You know what else was funny about this guy. He played tightend in college. So when it came to those rookie camps, that was the postion he was training for. I guess if he was training as an reciever he could've gone higher in the draft. Lucky Saints :oldrazz:

Also whats amazing is he has been consistant ,its really hard for a rookie to be consistant, this guy was expected to get cut at camp as well.

Not taking anything away from hester ,but the rams had one of the worst special teams in the league.

Well, with the way the media is covering him, of course not. He's been doing great all year, but the first we hear of him on pre-game/post-game shows is on Sunday when he had 3 TD's and 309 total yards.

It's even worse in the LA area. We get a damn Reggie Bush report about him upping his per game rushing average by one yard.

Awesome 3 weeks in a row. Now he's gotta beat Jax. That's gonna be tough but it's in Tenn.
