Heroes Reborn General Discussion

Ugh, this is such a convoluted mess of a show. Yet I cannot stop watching.

I think a prime example of how poorly written it is, is the fact the show cannot even keep characters consistent within themselves. Taylor is a cold, badass, assassin. She played and betrayed her mother without a second thought. She was basically trained to be Erica's own personal Noah Bennett. Then Parkman shoots Renee and telepathically paralyzes her and she suddenly shifts to a crying, whimpering, damsel-in-distress. It seems minor, but it is just one of many examples of how poorly this show handles internal consistency (which ultimately leads to tons of other problems).

Worst time for this show to come back. I've been spoiled with Jessica Jones (Better characters and stories) and Shannara Chronicles (MUCH better special effect). Not to mention I'm still high on Star Wars. Now I have to endure this BS. I've been rooting for this show since the beginning, but it's time to put it out of its misery. Where in safe hands with the Flash and Agents of Shield. Shannara Chronicles looks like it will be a great guilty pleasure at least, and legends of tomorrow looks promising.

Can't tell you how frustrated I am with how this show has turned out. Why the **** do they feel they need to tell such an epic story? Just do small personal stories without the world ending stakes.

*Street level hero El Vengador Daredevil style arc.
*Mat Parkman, psychic detective procedural.
*Teen drama with Tommy.
*Mr robot style conspiracy adventure with Micah. Miko could costar.

Perfect example of what I wanted was Already made by Heroes Dark Matters short films. Low budget, low specs, but kept me on the edge of my seat.

I honestly have no clue why I'm still watching this. I've yet to actually like an episode. Probably just curious to see how it ends. Though I could of just saved myself some time and just looked at episode reviews.

Probably two reasons:

1. They are trying to capture the first season lightning, and have no idea how to do it other than aping season 1 superficially.

2. Their writing team is addicted to 80s X-Men cliches, and/or terrified of writing a setting where superhumans are *not* secret and hated.

Just saw the last episode. Thank goodness for OnDemand. I missed it for my DVR.

Anyways, it was ok. Felt like filler. "Agent Zero" of the clones bit it. Forget his name. That was unexpected, but he was getting a bit tired. I feel the stakes aren't as high anymore because of this episode. The heroes will hero, the end. Like it's set in stone. But who knows, maybe they'll be twists and turns.

Said there's one episode left, but I checked wiki and it goes to 13, so 2 episodes left. Hrm.

They said there is one episode left until the finale.

While it hasn't blown me away I have enjoyed it and look forward to the last two.

I missed the last episode because of Dish's little spat with NBC.

Yay, Black Cockroach Clone Man got eliminated. Now if they also kill off Phoebe Pigface too, I will be a happy man. Had no idea the finale was coming so soon. Oh well, at least they didn't drag it out too much. And man, has Micah been bulking up or what?!

I'm trying my best to get through this show and make it out in one piece without losing my mind.

Makes me wish Kring will just stop before it gets worse than this. I'm just left feeling empty watching each episode. Heroes without Claire, Peter AND Syler? You can't have that. It's just not interesting enough to stand on its own two feet.

I think this series ended up being a huge missed opportunity. This was not well executed at all. So many potential clifhangers that were put in the middle of the show. So many other ridiculous things (like how the clone man can just open the door of a house, step in and put Tommy on a choke hold).

To me the main thing is that a miniseries like this introducing all new characters but still being called Heroes, takes away tons of exposition time. It was going to be difficult to get people to quickly connect. More of the old cast should have shown up, and then a major character return should have been planned for the last episode as a cliffhanger.

The show was clearly done on a lower budget than before, but the main screw up is the very boring writting. They should have put someone else on writting duties.

I think I've said it before, but a big conceptual problem is what Kring outright admitted: "Its like the tenth season of Heroes, as if it never got cancelled". The thing is, this is virtually *never* a good thing. By the tenth season, most shows become a mix of "why do we care about these random new characters?" and "why is everything derivative of plots from 5+ seasons back?" So, you know, *exactly what we got here*.

The season definitely could have been better, but overall I enjoyed it. The cliffhanger ending was frustrating, but I'm sure we'll get a continuation in book form.

For anyone who wants more insight into the season there were a series of eBooks written covering what happened with Claire/Peter, etc, and the pre-Reborn stories of a few other characters.

So my guess is that the father of the twins would of ended up being Sylar..
It seems like a heroes thing to do.

It was so bad, I didn't even care what happened. And by the way who is Malina's father? When I saw the card, I thought they were teasing a Joker type villain, then it turned out that card came from his biological father. Is it Peter Petrelli or Sylar?

Pretty sure Peter isn't the father as he is Claire's uncle.

Their father is a guy named "Hammer".

The finale was good. It linked around alright enough. I liked the quantum nod to time/space with Nathan splitting into two. It just had enough to make me enjoy it. Wish they'd explain Malina's character more. Is she matter/energy? So, as twins, they together are Masters of Reality? I guess.

Unnecessary cliffhanger? Where do they go from here? I mean, end of the world was kind of it. But maybe I'll see.

That'd be interesting.

How do you know? And what's his story? He sounds like a pornstar. Did Claire do porn? Like freaky, medical fetish porn?

Its in the link I provided above from the eBook they released.

How'd I miss that? Meaning your posts and the books.

Thought I was on top of things. Guess they cost money. Eh.

I've watched all of Heroes, read ever e-comic, and saw every webseries. But now there's an e-books. *grumble*

They could always reveal he isn't Kring made a big mistake when he did that I know not everyone likes Olicity but looks who's show got canceled and looks who's show still on the air. :yay:

The miniseries worked for me, I was entertained.
One thing I had change, the ending, I would not have hinted at a sequel knowing the show was not renewed.
Who was Claire mate ?

I couldn't hate the finale too much. The final scenes weren't awful, everything just wrapped up kind of abruptly. It did work as a miniseries. Glad it's over. Wish Kring could have planned his plots better. I'm just left feeling empty watching the end. Just like meh, it's over? Alright, great. Not moved like the original series had me feeling. Sucks they never featured Sylar or Peter. It just wasn't worth it without those guys coming in the battles. Erica was such an anti-climatic villain. They were trying to pass her off as a female sinister but it fell off the dartboard hard.

That's what's Kring does best, also it would have been great if it revealed Peter killed Sylar, and revealed the villain for S2 was Peter but more like a Vader type villain. :yay:

I liked the mini-series and really enjoyed the ending. Too bad there won't be a Reborn II.
