Remember that Grindhouse fake movie trailor Hobo With A Shotgun? Well I found the trailor entertaining and I think it would make a great cheesy B list type movie. Are they gonna turn that fake movie trailor into an actual flim like what they did with Machete?

In 2007 there was a contest at SXSW that invited filmmakers to create their own fake grindhouse-style movie trailers to go along with the promotion for the Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez film Grindhouse. The winner, by a great margin, was Hobo with a Shotgun, from Nova Scotia director Jason Eisener.
The young director, who worked in a comic book store when his film won the contest, saw Hobo with a Shotgun attached to Canadian prints of Grindhouse, and immediately started talking about the possibility of a feature-length version. It’s taken a while to make that happen (Eisener has made the very popular short Treevenge in the interim) but now the feature version of of his grindhouse trailer is about to begin production. In the lead role, he’s got a new hobo: Rutger Hauer. Is there any better casting choice than that?

Okay, this is frigging awesome!

Here's the trailer that won the contest.

Would've liked the same actor for the hobo but a small price to pay for a feature length film. The hobo actor is now playing a cop.

Doesn't anyone think that one those biker or police men look like one the Judges from Judge Dredd?

I'm not sure about this. I'm a fan of this retro parody trend that's going on lately (LOVED Black Dynamite, really looking forward to seeing Machete) but this one doesn't really have that Grindhouse look to it at all, at least from the trailer. Really, it just reminded me of the absolutely horrible Punisher: War Zone. But maybe it will be good. Hauer is a great actor, after all.

Nice trailer. The music is very reminisce of The Warriors. I do agree on the look of the film looks more like Punisher War Zone with the colors and all and less Grindhouse. Little bit worry there but I'm still looking forward to it since Rutger Hauer is a good actor and it will be interesting to the finishing product.

it looks like a grindhouse version of Harry Brown lol

It's like John Carpenter directed a Troma film.

Supposed to come out in Spring 2011!

looks very good, Rutger Hauer is cool.

I hope this will be the "Death Wish 3" of our time.

I like the dialogue alot better from the original trailer.

Can't wait for the movie though.
