Hobo With A Shotgun

People deal in absolutes too often on the net.
I definitely don't feel that one Grindhouse film can speak for all Grindhouse films, part of the fun of the ones I've seen is in how many sub-genres there are.
Also some of you are comparing apples and oranges. Black Dynamite and Hobo with a Shotgun are emulating completely different types of films and both succeed.

Watching this right now. Feel like I'm watching an old school Troma flick for real. Some good laughs so far though. He just seemed sooooooo sad about his shopping cart :( lol

I just saw this yesterday on Demand. It delivered on every aspect i expected it to and it did not disappoint. Based on what they were trying to do, it's one of the better movies I've seen this year thus far and i think its largely due to Rutger's performance. I saw/read a video interview of Hauer that he said hes one of the most underrated actors in film today, i can't help but to agree. He's one of those actors that could excel in just about any role hes offered. Good guy, Bad Guy(Especially!), Homeless guy! It doesn't matter. He could pull it off. He really captured the Hobo's emotions and disgust with what was going on around him. If there is anything negative that i could say about it is the ending. Once it came down to the last 5 minutes of the movie i was able to (Sadly)predict the outcome of it and worse yet, it left me with that feeling of wanting more:o...
An Aftermath? It perhaps would've been great to show what impact and change this lone homeless man had on the town. Based on the revolt towards the end of the film, his actions led to a change in the town in that in the end they defended him, it would've been a perfect close to the film if that would've been worked on.
I give this a 8/10.

Hauer is really did make this film. It wouldn't of had a chance in hell if they'd kept David Brunt as the lead. Well... It would of probably felt more like an actual troma movie :oldrazz:.

As for the ending
I couldn't agree more, it just seemed a bit rushed.
