gurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrl gone get silly tonight.

Interesting. Any reason in particular? PS, I also prefer SPARTACUS but I love me some BEN-HUR. There's some great stuff in it.
I hated him in Planet of the Apes, the first movie I saw him in, and the hate just carried through to the rest of his movies I think, lol. His real life persona didn't help.

Ben-Hur definitely has some good stuff, but now I can't watch the best bit - that chariot sequence - without thinking of all the horses that died so it's kinda ruined for me.

Good God, I've just gotten to the scene where Mark Antony is told Cleopatra is "dead." Richard Burton played that so horribly. His reaction was that of mild annoyance, lol.

I read this and then went to the BEN HUR IMDB page and the Ben Hur wiki page....there is no mention of any horses being killed in the production. According to the IMDB page for the 1925 BEN HUR - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0016641/trivia?ref_=tt_trv_trv - there were several horses killed in the filming of it's chariot race. Do you think you got the two mixed up?

He is Tyrion.

I wonder if Tyrion would be the first President whose first lady is a prostitute.

I read about it in a Hollywood Reporter article a couple years back. Here:

Animal cruelty has been a fact of life on productions since the inception of Hollywood. (Nearly 100 horses died during the shooting of 1959’s Ben-Hur alone.)

But it's possible they got it mixed up with the 1925 version, since other articles I've found seem to talk about it in association with that one. I just thought they BOTH had horses die.

I wonder if Tyrion would be the first President whose first lady is a prostitute [BLACKOUT]whom he killed with his bare hands after finding out she was sleeping with his father.[/BLACKOUT]

Accuracy and all. :cwink:

we really need to weasel out the people who act like 10 year olds.
