i think it's kind of a tossup between playstation and nintendo. less than a month of release, and zelda breath of the wild is already considered one of the greatest games of all time

I think my last save file is like 15-18 hours, but that's a mix of main the story with a little bit of side stuff. There's still a lot I didn't do. My game completion was something like 58%

I just started this game this weekend. It looks like a next gen Fallout. Everytime I talk to one of the NPCs, I think of Fallout's settlers but actually look good. Its amazing how good the models and such look considering this is a massive open world

In sheer detail and animation, Uncharted 4 beats this game in my opinion. However, given the scale, this is the overall most impressive game of the PS4 I'd say! Great job by Guerilla Games! Killzone 2 is one of my all time favourite games and it's great to see them back on track with this one!

I can't compare Uncharted 4's visuals to Horizon. Its not entirely fair to either game. Horizon was made with the Pro in mind. Uncharted wasnt made for the Pro. If Naughty Dog had made Uncharted 4 for PS4 Pro it's visuals would have wiped the floor with Horizon. Hell, it damn near does with just a patch.

A better comparison would probably be to compare Horizon to the upcoming Uncharted DLC. Afaik, that DLC was made for the PS4 Pro.

uncharted 4 is the better looking game in my opinion, but one thing i had to remind myself was that horizon is an open world game. so to have visuals like that, where you are in the same ballpark as uncharted is a damn impressive feat

But he said UC4 looks better so the fact it does in spite of Pro speaks volume. Besides unless one is playing both on a Pro, the comparisons are valid. I'm only on regular PS4 and think UC4 looks better as well

More early opinions. Im finding Aloy very likeable. I think GG did a great job at creating and fleshing her character out.

Im getting used to it but im not liking that you cant map your controls bc i prefer melee attacks on the face buttons

I agree! Guerilla has created some generic lead characters in the past, but this time they hit a home run with Aloy! She's indeed very likeable!

The Spider-Man games have been hit and miss and arent exactly a PS franchise. The new game is unproven and thus has no basis yet as a must have title

I put an emoticon because I know it's a different situation.
I also think Guerrilla was hit and miss with Killzone and Horizon was unproven too until two weeks ago. I know Insomniac is not first-party but they have mostly worked with Sony i.e Ratchet and clank/Resistance. I think Sony knows that a great Spider-Man game would grant them a lot of bucks and chose a great developer for him. Marvel also said they want to build a Franchise with Sony/Insomniac so yeah I believe it has all the premise to become a killer app for Playstation. Spider-Man was also showed alongside GOW and HZD in a couple of PS spots so I think their goal is to make Spidey one of their faces.

I've been away for the past couple of weeks and haven't been able to play. But soon I return!

I completed my first cauldron. I've been doing many sidequests but I suck at the hunting grounds. Think I ought to change my bow for that now that I think about it.

I really wish this game had swords, axes, and hammers. This beating stick Im carrying isnt doing it for me.

Only have about two missions left before I finish the game. Kind of sad to see it over. I just got the super armor. I love the look of it but I HATE that they adding a blinking shield effect to it. It's very distracting, but I guess they did that in hopes you'll only use it here and there since it's so powerful.

Yeah, hopefully they'll expand the melee combat in the sequel. I do find using regular weapons on the humans can be fun though; firing the tripcaster for example at a human will actually pull them towards you for a Critical hit.
