The Dark Knight How do you think Heath Ledger will do as Joker?

I was totally "....wha??" and couldn't for the life of me picture him as The Joker.

I was never especially anti-Ledger in general, and I thought he was great in Brokeback Mountain, but that character was absolutely nothing like The Joker, and he'd never played any other Joker-esque character or even a villain, so I had no idea what to expect.

I hadn't seen Ledger in anything prior to this film, so I wasn't really excited or disappointed. When I got into the theater and saw TDK for the first time, I was shocked at how vicious his Joker was. Any reservations I had about the silly facepaint thing were blown away. He was, and still is, my definitive Joker.

Same. It had never even occurred to me that he would do a voice for the part - I thought he might play a pretty boy criminal - the kind that was sorta referenced in 10 Things - but what we got was genius

Ledger had already played a wide range of different characters, so as any good actor he didn't need to prove he can play a certain character with a previous role he did, something many people seem to Forget when it comes to casting.
